1995 Article on the Development and Origins of the M60e4

Recommended Posts

Got my hands on this article this week thanks to Jared at Lewman Arms.... It is from the January 1995 Issue of Machine Gun News..... It outlines highlights Saco Defense's development of the M60e4 Machine Gun. The Saco Defense Plant would close in 1997. U.S. Ordnance would pick up development and production. They started making the M60e4 (Mk43) in 2000 and have been producing the M60 Since..... Stan Andrewski (featured in this article) died in February of 2022. Marc Desrochers, who was the project manager for the M60e4, is now a senior manager at General Dynamics.

Imho, these original e4 hangers are awesome.  I use them with modified Capco boxes that have a 249 ammo bag connector on the side that will lock into the hanger (same as the mk48 bag, but a hard box)

Easentially it is a quick-attach Capco box
