  3. Posting some information that may be helpful to those who own M60s and experience this failure.... We currently have an M60 in on repair with this exact issue, so I took some photos and video going over the work as we did it... This should help understand why this happens and just how in depth the repair is. Aaron - Mohnton, Pa Sales@BeltFeds.Com A nice M60e6... Customer was shooting and the bolt locked solid in the chamber. We were able to see that the round had been expended and the cartridge was empty: The first step we take to free this up is shown in the video below from our YouTube channel. In this specific case, it was ineffective and the bolt did not budge even a hair.. It should be noted, that you should ensure there is not a live round in the gun when you are doing this. After exhausting our efforts, we determine that the only course of action to free this up is to cut the bolt in half. This is complicated to do while the bolt is in the receiver. These heat treated bolts just kill end mills. We cut this in a specific way that prevents any damaging from occurring to the operating rod: Once the bolt is complete cut in two, we are able to pull the barrel out of the front. The most common cause of this is extractors getting blown out of their pocket, which prevents the bolt from camming out.... We can see here that this was the case for this gun. NOTHING would have gotten this free. When the bolt is fully seated in the chamber the extractor is facing down so it is completely inaccessible. The culprit.... Lake City 08 (I still think it may be a reload) ... You can see the back end of the casing is blown out. Below is a video going over the removal of this bolt and the casing. In this specific instance, the casing didn't full seat. It appears as though it bulged at the bottom preventing it from doing so (possibly a reloaded round that was resized and messed up?). The caseing blasted out of the rear side which in turn blew the extractor out of the bolt. Here is another video of a repair we did with the same issue. Just for a different view point etc:

  9. @Got Uzi Yes I agree... I read some of the indictments for FFLs who got law letter belt guns and then rented them out... Thats where they are hitting them for "conspiracy to defraud the government" .. Submitting law letter to the ATF that the gun is for demo to an agency and then using them to rent to the general public for profit.....
  10. I think the problem you run into is that guidance varies from agent to agent / office to office.... It shouldn't, but I believe rules are interpreted differently depending on who you are dealing with.... Just like there was a time when Law Letters were not so closely scrutinized. Now they are.... ALL of these things should be clearly laid out and in the form of written guidance from the ATF... But all of us FFLs know that the waters are murkey in many areas. Aaron
  11. It is unknown if this has any impact on transfer times, but I know they are applying more scrutiny, or, looking closer at, no letter transfers.... I know of one FFL right now that is being audited.... This specific FFL dropped his FFL, sold his samples as no letter guns, and then rebranded and moved to a completely different facility and got a new FFL.... The audit he is undergoing is the most comprehensive he has ever had. 3 Agents there as opposed to 1... They specifically told him that his post samples should not have been sold as no letter guns and should have followed him to his new FFL since he did not "go out of business".... Again, unsure why transfer times would be taking longer, but I know for a fact they are looking closer at no letter transfers etc. Aaron
  12. This is a factory M60e4 barrel that was made specifically for use with supressorors. It was designed as a prototype. The Gas port size in the barrel is different than other M60e4 -e6 barrels and it allows the gun to be used with suppressors (will cycle properly)... As mentioned above, this is a factory made barrel, not something somebody cut down and made... $2,500 Plus Shipping Aaron - Mohnton, Pa Sales@BeltFeds.Com SOME PHOTOS COURTESY OF AZMGO FOR REFERENCE BELOW OF A SIMILAR BARREL IN USE:
  13. I have a M60e4 Heavy sustained fire long barrel available. It is stellite lined and new old stock... Has never been on a gun. As nice as they come..... These barrels were designed and made by Saco Defense. The Marine Corps, who only used long barrels in their M60e3s, wanted a barrel that would take the heat better. They were also used on M60Ds... They are currently made by US Ordnance and in use all over the world. $2,500 Plus Shipping Aaron - Mohnton, Pa Sales@BeltFeds.Com
