SOT Renewal Notification Change

Just received from ATFE via email.

Dear Industry Member,

Beginning SOT tax year 2023, the National Firearms Act (NFA) Division will no longer provide renewal documents for Special Occupational Tax (SOT) to the industry. Sending renewals using ATF Form 5630.5R and 5RC is not mandated by federal regulation. The forms were developed by NFA Division to assist with wait times for mailing and to coordinate the switch in our systems for tax years. With the successful addition of the pay.gov platform for SOT payments in tax year 2022, we will no longer send reminders of renewal payments.

So basically we won't get a prefilled out form in the mail anymore? We just refill the application and send it in for renewal?

After this many years, they decide to change something again. I miss seeing the pink envelope. :(

Did this really ruin you life? You know you didn't have to click on it?
