Developed in the 1950s. These never went into mass production as the military opted to use their existing tripods with platform pintle mounts and T&E mechs. Which is why there is so few out there...... You need a Springfield armory M60 handguard (with holes in the sides) to use this mount.... Worth a good chunk of change to the right collector. There is transferable Springfield Armory M60s out there and I believe this would appeal to those guys. They scrapped over 99% of them NIB which is why they are rare. They have scrapped NIB M60s at times as well with no known explanations.
