I've been to 4 gun shows and looked on gunbroker and local classifieds for a year.  I have seen nothing under that except universal, iver johnson, and plainfields.

I bought my first M1 Carbine from Simpson Ltd. in Illinois.

They might have something that suits your needs.

I looked nothing under $1600.  Plus I have shipping and the transfer fee from my ffl.  M1 carbines have really gone nuts in a few years.

Have you check FloridaGunTrader?

It’s full of cupcakes but sometimes there’s good deals

My friend picked up one recently for under $1K on FLGunTrader. I think he ended getting it for $950. Also, check the Blue sky import guns. They sell for less and are usgi guns but they have a horrible mark on the barrel. It’s for a registered pack, so who cares.

I still think 1k is the right price for one of these.

I bought a cheap usgi BlueSky M1 carbine and SBR’ed it for my registered trigger housing.

Buying it tomorrow for $1450.  Life is short and I've had this kit for 2 yrs.

Good move, get your project finished and enjoy at the range this summer. 'A Bird in the Hand is Worth Two in the Bush'

Did you see one sold for $500 in recent time?

Is your reading comprehension poor?
I said it was $500 too high, meaning a decent price for a USGI carbine is around $1k

Picked it up this morning.  Never having a vintage machinegun or any other wwii gun before it's amazing.  Thinking about where it has been and who held it is crazy. The dings in the stock and finish wear and patina.  A thompson might be next...

Truth, my friend.

I paid $1,700 for my Inland in 2017.

It still looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line, even after being used as a registered trigger pack host for the past seven years.
