Aaron in Mohnton Pa Posted August 31, 2023 Report Share Posted August 31, 2023 Short pins are an early variant. The design was replaced by the longer pin.... Although uncommon, the back of the short pins could come out of the firing pin bearing causing failures. Hence the longer back end on the newer style one.... The short pins are still fine and serviceable. They were never recalled or taken out of service or anything... They just came out with a better design.
