  1. What upper(s) are you going to run? If you're staying with the original configuration (and with a can) then the mini Uzi stock is a huge improvement. Especially when its wrapped with paracord for comfort. If you're going to run a Lage upper, then his side-folding stocks are really hard to beat.
  2. Not my gun, but yes...that is correct. Drive the roll pins out and the 2-piece factory blocks come out, then the mag-well will accept a full size mag.
  3. What's the manufacturer info in box 4a?
  4. I guess we'll just have to disagree...cause I don't think ATF "ignores" -or- "mostly ignores" any info or wording placed on any Form 4, whether "extra" or not. Try placing an "extra" caliber in 4c and see if that gets "mostly ignored." I will continue to place "Machine Gun Sear" or "Drop In Auto Sear" (I don't own a registered trigger box) in 4b unless / until ATF issues that correction letter to include only the "magical words." And if they do...I'll just enter that wording (Machine Gun Sear, Drop In Auto Sear, Trigger Box) in 4h as an additional descriptor.
  5. Box 4b on the current / downloadable / editable Form 4 does not provide a drop-down choice...the type of firearm has to be typed in. Maybe it's a drop-down choice option on an eFile Form 4? Divorcing a host is carried out by registering said host listed in 4h on a Form 1...not a Form 4. My point was that an individual can currently eFile a Form 1...which makes the process a little easier / convenient. And yes I realize that these days you never know when you'll get a correction letter for info on your Form 4, request for pics, or any manner of different bureaucratic nitpicks etc. etc. Which just bolsters my earlier point...with all the other crap they're calling out Form 4s for...to my knowledge they're not sending out correction letters for "Machine Gun Sear" in 4b.
  6. You originally wrote "Typically F4 paperwork doesn’t say it is a sear / conversion device" which has been the opposite of my experience and the reason I asked. I would disagree with the characterization that having "sear" (or other conversion device) in box 4b as being "improper." If you take a look at Chapter 2 of ATF's NFA Handbook, sears, trigger boxes and all manner of conversion devices / collection of parts are recognized in pics and writing. Further, ATF has required certain adjustments (and issued correction letters) to how Forms are filled out over the years, to include removing more than one caliber in box 4c...to my knowledge, ATF has yet to decree that "sear," "trigger box," "Drop in Auto Sear" etc. be replaced with simply "Machine Gun" and issued correction letters based on such. A totally insignificant exception to the rule of "married" sears. Why assume the host hasn't been registered / divorced if not with the sear? I once had a Fleming sear transfer to my dealer and the previous owner had left the (married host) info in 4h on the Form 4 to my dealer...a host they had previously registered / divorced, but had copied all the info on their form nonetheless. We just removed that info in 4h for the transfer of the sear from my dealer to me. Regardless, that would be a problem for that person possessing a restricted / potentially unregistered firearm listed previously in 4h and not a problem for the transfer of the registered sear. If the original married host listed in 4h is not with the registered sear, the transfer form is simply completed and submitted without that host's info in 4h. 4h is just extraneous information. Again, a totally insignificant exception to the rule. I don't know the exact # of PP Registered sear guns Vollmer made which were subsequently grandfathered by ATF, but I'd guess it's less than 20. I haven't seen one come to market in literally years. But yes, that would be an example of a "permanently married" sear...unless you can convince ATF to allow you to divorce the host by destruction as someone claimed on HKPro to have done so years ago. No argument there...
  7. Just curious...what is your experience with how your papered sears are identified in box 4b? Cause my RDIAS' are identified as "Drop In Auto Sear" in 4b and my Fleming HK sears are identified as "Machine Gun Sear" in 4b, as are the sears for my FNCs and Norrell 10/22s A married sear gun is not a detractor IMO, especially if installed in the buyer's preferred host. One less stamp to pay for and the ultimate buyer can decide if they want to divorce or not...which is not an entirely hard (or time consuming) thing to do with eFile these days. Agreed. My Fleming sears all have "HK" in box 4d and my RDIAS' have "N/A" "AR-15" "AL" and "AS" in 4d. FNC & 10/22 sears have "FNC" and "10/22" in 4d respectively. Agreed
  8. The "MARK FORUM AS READ" is visible and working for me. IIRC, it is in a different place now...located under the "START NEW TOPIC" button and to the left of the "SORT BY" dropdown button.
  9. My last Form 4 transfer to an out of state SOT submission was in 3-29-22 and was approved without issue on 6-23-22. The out of state SOT (transferee) did not sign the Form 4. Just curious...who / where at ATF instructed you that was a requirement?
  10. When did ATF begin to require an SOT to sign a submitted Form 4 on an individual to SOT transfer? This is a new one on me. Every Form 4 submission as an individual, transferring to an SOT I've ever made, never included that SOT's (transferee's) signature. I enter the SOT's info in box 5 and 6a & 6b -and- I sign box 9 (and fill out 10 & 11)...and that's always been good. Never a delay or request for additional information.
  11. As the title states, I'm looking for a BFA for an MP40. Thanks in advance
  12. Is this the message (in bold) you're seeing? I'm seeing it as well on my desktop & laptop computers, but it's not causing any navigation issues. I typically don't browse this site on my phone, so no comparative info there. [[Template core/front/global/updateWarning is throwing an error. This theme may be out of date. Run the support tool in the AdminCP to restore the default theme.]]
  13. Is Martin Pearl still alive? I'm drawing a blank on the name of his gunsmith that did most of his work conversion work for him...maybe, you can find some contact info to get some more definitive info about the gun? Thanks for posting the pics...it appears (to my eye anyway) that the lever on the bottom might be a selector lever. Does it pivot? Can you determine via dry-firing if it in fact controls SA / FA?
  14. "He" responded to my WTB ad for a TNW M230 kit and immediately requested communications go to email (burkeswayne672@gmail.com). No big deal, that's happened in the past. I make email contact. "He" sends me pics of a transferable 1919a4 package which includes the M230 kit and "wants to know how much I'd pay for it." My antennae are up, but I'm not yet 100% sure I'm dealing with a scumbag. I tell "him" that he reached out to me, so "he" needs to put a price on it...$3000 was the response in an explanation that absolutely screamed "English is not my 1st language -or- I know nothing about what I'm trying to sell." I found it somewhat odd that the city / state tagged to their Sturm account is Lake Charle, LA, the address info on the pictured DL is Selma, NC and the area code for the phone # provided is Pittsburgh, PA. It's at this point I did a little research and found the ad from which "he" scalped the pics and descriptions for the M230 kit "he" was offering: Transferable 1919 Browning Belt-Fed .30-06 Machinegun (plus extras) w/ M230 Kit in .308 $21,500 OBO Looking to see if I could draw out this POS, I counter-offered, "he" accepted and provided a phone # (724-964-6274 / Google Voice) for a Zelle transaction or "he" was willing to do PayPal. "He" provided a pic of a person holding a driver's license, identifying themselves as "Andrew Wayne Burkes - Selma, NC." I called the # provided (724-964-6274)...no answer of course. I explained in my following email to this trickster that I was old school and would be willing to send a personal check, certified check or postal money order...but needed an address. Once "he" realizes the only way he'll get any money, he acquiesces to accepting PMOs and provides the address for his "wife" at a different city and address than that on the pictured DL and of course a different last name than Burkes. "Wifes" name and address is: Sharon Stephens 4305 Smokemont Dr Apt 205 Charlotte NC 28273 Big mistake providing that name and address as the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's detective I spoke to is keen to speak to this woman (or the person at this address) to figure out what part she plays in internet fraud. She's either an unwitting accomplice, "an engaged bag man" or the person I've been communicating with the entire time. Who knows? "He" is been awaiting the arrival of PMOs I "mailed" over a week ago...go figure. After being perplexed as to why my PMOs hadn't shown up, he turned down (of course) my offer to send my "cousin living in Charlotte" with cash to pick up the kit face to face from his "wife." Long story short...Raptor_22 needs to be banned, and don't do business with anyone identifying themselves as Andrew Wayne Burkes, Sharon Stephens or anyone using the phone # 724-964-6274 or email address burkeswayne672@gmail.com
  15. IMO, being a registered trigger group adds value...unless it happens to be permanently married to the receiver. Also IMO, despite its rarity, I don't think it's worth transferable AK47 money. $25k? I know you're trying to maximize return for Jeff's widow...as such, I'd honestly be seriously be tempted to put it up on GB, starting @$25k for a 2-week auction to see where it goes...you never know, there might be one or more folks who "just have to have it" and bid it up to "crazy money." Either way...good luck.
  16. Nice! Is it a registered receiver, trigger group or sear?
  17. riflejunky is correct...no physical transference can take place until that transfer has been approved by ATF.
  18. FYI...any C&R machine gun you purchase will also transfer to you on a Form 4. C&R allows for shipment to your address...all other aspects of a transfer on Form 4 are retained, such as the $200, fingerprint cards, etc.
  19. Check with Terry Dyer, he may have some in stock or still make them.
  20. If anyone has one of these kits (full or partial) for the BMG 1919a4 lying around, that they no longer need / use...send me a pm, I'd be interested
  21. Some questions and observations... Manufacturer of you RDIAS? Manufacturer of the lower you use for your 556 (which has no issues)? How is the fit/function/trip pivot (same technique) of your RDIAS to your 556 upper? RDIAS fit to your 556 lower? Did you have to "Dremel" out any material of your 556 lower so your RDIAS will fit? The portion of the trip on your RDIAS which engages the BC is angle-tapered almost to a point...it is thinnest at its very top. Like this RDIAS Most trips are full-thickness and rounded at the top. This is how the top of the trip is shaped on all my RDIAS'. The shimming you've placed at the back of the lug is pretty thick...way thicker than I would've expected. Also, unless the image(s) or my eyes are playing tricks on me, it appears the rear vertical leg on your RDIAS is a little "splayed"...and canted to the rear. You have to be careful (even with steel RDIAS') not to force the RDIAS on an oversize or shimmed lug...you can bend that rear vertical leg on the RDIAS outward. Note how the pocket of the 2nd pictured RDIAS is completely square?...that is ideal IMO. It appears when your RDIAS is on your KS47 upper (upside down), the trip pivots properly (but maybe not completely?) when you push your BC home. That's good...but what we don't know is if the pocket in your lower is allowing for a little "drop-down" of the RDIAS when everything is closed and that is giving you some inconsistency. What you can do is put layers of thick tape or shim material on the bottom of your RDIAS, so that you reach a layer which gives resistance to complete closing and seating the pin. When that happens, function-check again for improvement. Doing this ensures the RDIAS is completely engaged vertically with the BC and the gun closed, where you can't visually check. I'll take a look at a couple of my RDIAS' tonight, just to take another look at fit to the upper's lugs and how the trips pivot. You could have a collection of factors stacking up on you here...your RDIAS' trip configuration, how PSA specs their components and their interaction. EDIT: I just went back and looked at the your 1st video. Originally, I thought the "shiny" surfaces on your rear lug was shim material. Now after I look at it again...it appears it might be where the lug was dremeled? Did you dremel the lug surfaces?
