  7. I'm also looking to renew so that I can list a WTS ad, but I can't. The workflow for this is atrocious.
  8. I made a 14" AUG barrel years ago out of a 16" barrel. This was when 14" barrels were still unobtanium (before the new ones from Steyr USA) and before the suppressor plugs were commonly available as well so I made my own custom 14" barrel, gas plug, and AAC 51th "Tulip" flash hider. My experience was that a 14" barrel with a suppressor will run with the gas plug hole opened up to essentially the same diameter as the hole in the gas block. Basically what this means is that you can't vent any more gas from the expansion chamber so the gas plus is no longer the bottleneck the vent hole in the gas block is. This is essentially what the factory suppressor gas plug does as well as it just opens up the vent hole on the gas plug to the max diameter as the exit vent hole in the gas block. So with a factory 14" barrel with a suppressor attached and the suppressor gas plug set to suppressed will probably work just fine as the added backpressure of the suppressor will still cycle the gun even on the shorter barrel with a max vent arrangement. However, without a suppressor the 14" barrel needs an extremely small vent hole in the gas plug. I don't recall the dimensions off hand but the vent hole in the gas plug for the 14" barrel unsuppressed I came up with was roughly half the diameter of the 16" barrel standard gas plug vent hole. Since the suppressor gas plug is designed to work with a 16" barrel, if you put the suppressed gas plug on a 14" barrel the unsuppressed setting (which is speced for a 16" barrel) without the suppressor attached I would bet the gun won't cycle. If you were to try and run a 14" barrel with its 14" specific gas plug and put a suppressor on it, (not venting extra gas) you will beat the gun to death and in full auto have reliability issues due to the cyclic rate and resultant bolt bounce. So your options are most likely a gas plug swap arrangement unless you want to make your own plug. 14" barrel unsuppressed use the 14" barrel gas plug that came with the gun like normal. 14" barrel suppressed swap in the Steyr suppressor gas plug into the barrel and put it on the suppressed setting. The other option would be to make a custom 14"barrel suppressor gas plug unit with the right vent hole sizes for suppressed and unsuppressed. Personally I don't really like AUG with a traditional 5.56 suppressor as even with the suppressor gas plug which prevents over vigorous cycling, you still get a lot of gas to the face. The best option I have shot was 16" barrel gun with a Silencer Velos low backpressure suppressor which was pretty pleasant and very similar to the gun unsuppressed from a cyclic rate and blowback perspective. One of the other issues I noticed is that with the 14" barrel you need to wear gloves as your hand/knuckles are so close the the flash hider vents that your support hand gets peppered with each shot. Its not terrible semi-auto but long bursts on auto become unpleasant without a glove to protect the front of you front support hand from the flame and unburnt powder that is ejected out of the bottom of the flash hider slots. Hope this helps.
  9. Hello SSSFFF, I apologize for my late reply, swamped with work again, NBA Playoffs. (I'm an NBA Sports consultant/editing game segments for ESPN Network) Spas 12 is listed on several sites, Gunbroker, looking for best offer. Thank you for your interest.
  10. I’ve seen a couple on gunbroker and a video of one. Now that I’m getting a Thompson I’d like to know how feasible it is. I read something that said you have to knock the pin out of the Cutts compensator and it will unscrew. Is it that simple? Does anyone make a suppressor threaded for a Thompson?

  12. Can an individual do an eform form4 to a dealer in another state? Or, what is the best/proper way to transfer it to an out of state sot dealer?

  17. Hey Aaron: Do you have any more of those 4 small captive bolts and nylock nuts that hold the hanger on? How much$ ? Thanks, BP
  18. Ope I think that’s exactly what it is lol. My business partners m11 did that to me about a year ago then we went to my house to trow a new cocking knob into it. An yeah it hitting me in the face was phenomenal haha…. Hit me hard enough for a fraction of a second I assumed I just got smacked with a ricochet. Thanks for figuring that out for me!
  19. This Valmet is an Odin import pre-86 dealer sample and can only go to FFL w/current SOT. Since I'm no longer an SOT it'll have to go on a tax-paid paper form4 and I'll cover the $200 tax. As I've whittled down my collection over the years I have done a dozen or so and they have been reliably running 10wks. Pre-sample does not require a demo letter and can be kept when giving up your license. M78 5.56 heavy barrel RPK style LMG in 'new' condition. Yes, it's at least 38yrs old now but to my knowledge it's never been fired. Sold to me as unfired in 2002 and it has not been fired since I've owned it. Came to me without a magazine. Original Valmet magazines are difficult to find and EXPENSIVE but I do have one original magazine with the gun now. It also comes with three Tromix converted 30rd Bulgarian waffle mags and four East German Weiger magazines that I converted myself. All untested of course but the conversion is not difficult and the mags fit and function check,.....just haven't run live fire through the gun. The gun is perfect except as with all Valmets, there is a small crack in the plastic butt plate at the lower screw hole. Not overly heavy, 10-1/2# with the 23" heavy barrel, heavy gauge sheet metal receiver and attached bipod. Pre 86 Dealer Sample 'keeper' from my collection, will transfer on tax-paid form4 to current SOT only as my license lapsed more than a decade ago(I will pay the transfer). $13,500 All funds up front, I'll cover shipping and the tax. Not interested in any trades. kaveman9@hotmail.com La Porte, IN
  20. I've received a couple questions about date of manufacture. My research shows this to have been manufactured between December of 1943 and May of 1944.
  21. Pre-Orders are CLOSED. May 1st, 2024, has arrived (or passed depending on when you’re reading this), officially closing the FNC bolt preorder period. Please note that unless prior arrangements have already been made with me personally, I’m rejecting any additional (new) pre-orders and will return new order payments should I receive any. The next opportunity to purchase an FNC bolt is after the parts are finished, with those units being sold at a “first come, first served” basis (at an undetermined higher cost). As previously stated, I only provided discounts to those individuals willing to go through the pre-order process. If you’ve sent money and haven’t received an acceptance receipt from me (PM, email, text), then please contact me immediately. I’m now sending my production order to the manufacturing partner. They will need to procure material and start the “tooling process”. Lots of secondary processes too like multiple heat treats so please expect 16-weeks + to get these bolts ready for customers. Please feel free to call me anytime should questions arise but I’ll post updates on this thread as we progress. We broke the 50-unit threshold which is phenomenal! Please accept my heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the pre-order process, this project would not have happened without your support. Very Respectfully, Navgunner
