Swedish K training barrel

Recommended Posts

I was the winning bidder of some Swedish K training ammo at yesterday’s Morphy’s auction. I think that the auction house’s listing wasn’t done very well because the lot also included an original barrel for the Carl Gustaf M/45 (Swedish K) to be able to shoot the Swedish M39 training ammunition.   IMHO the lot went cheap.

I’m going to post the barrel for sale so that sometime can add it to their collection (I only want the ammo).  I’ve personally never seen one of these available for sale here in US before.  How much are they worth?

CONDITION: Barrel is gray patina with remnant of red band. Red painted steel cover is also included.

$300?  I have one or I'd be interested at that price.  Maybe higher since they're pretty rare??

They work great with the training ammo - just pop off the blank fire retaining clip and unscrew the blank fire cap.

I'm curious - what do you have planned for all the ammo if you don't want the barrel?  You may already know, but you only want to shoot it through a specialized, hardened barrel (like the one provided).  If shot through a regular barrel, the steel BB will ruin the barrel. You may already also know to be careful about shooting any steel or hard targets with the BB.  There are stories about the hardened BBs ricocheting (or coming back at the shooter).

Thank you, @Bwana!  I have personal experience with this ammo but it's always good to remind people that this is specialty stuff because it can be dangerous (as you described).

My purpose: I've been collecting the 36 round clips (there's 288 in this lot alone so I may have gotten a bit carried away).  Oh well, the clips themselves seem to sell for ~4 or 5 dollars each.  The ammo is only valuable to me as primed brass.  I've processed many thousands already (pulled the Bakelite/BBs projectiles, used the old powder as federalizer and reloaded the rest for my open bolt sub guns).

When I get actual possession of the barrel I'll post it for sale (here on Sturm and UziTalk).  My plan is ask 450 and see what happens.  If I don't get close to the number I'll put her up on GB.
