Derrick
Newbie to the Ultimax 100 Mk2, (fixed barrel) and have two questions... 1) How do you remove/clean the gas piston? Does it require removal of the gas block? 2) How do you remove the barrel? Gas block removal and unscrew form barrel extension? There's a small set screw at the breech end near the bottom of the barrel extension.. I assume this prevents rotation and removal? Thanks, Derrick

Derrick
Thanks, but that manual is for the MK3. The Mk2 is slightly different with a fixed barrel. Any idea where I can find a Mk2 manual?

Thanks, Derrick Derrick, remove the two taper pins and tap the block off. You will probably find the Ultimax seems to be hard on the piston return spring. See about finding some replacements, Barrel unscrews from the barrel extension. Need to hold the extension (a modified AR15/M16 part) as the heat shield is captured by the barrel and can try to rotate with the barrel and get all bent up. No real need to remove the barrel for anything but a major problem of some sort. Pete in St. Louis Be aware that residue can build up in the very top front of the inside of the rec. keeping the front of the carrier from going all the way forward. Worse case it can keep the gun from firing. Difficult area to see into and clean. Edited January 28, 2022 by shortfal Add text
