  1. Could be worse if we didn't have a standby generator. 2nd day now running full time on our Kohler 24KW commercial gen set. How bout' it ya'll, how are you guys in the rest of the lower 48 making it after this Nationwide snow storm? Cheers, R.L.
  2. Years ago I had some interest in making swaged bullets. The interest has resurfaced 30 years later. Their gear has always been pricey, but top notch in quality. Anyone here ever use any of their machines? R.L.
  3. Prices are not bad, free shipping on some. R.L.
  4. Just watched that YouTube video last weekend. According to Mark, the one he showed in the video was only a prototype and never produced for sale. There was also a matching suppressor for it. The real story behind the video is how did Canada get the data from the NFA registry? Maybe with some help from the "BIG GUY"? Mr. 10%. R.L.
  5. For most of us old timers here, Bob Naess/Black River Militaria is a well known C-3 manufacturer, a super source of firearms history and repair, and a nice guy too! After selling off most of my C3 I kinda' lost contact with a lot of my old C3 friends. I got a call the other day from a board member friend here looking for help locating and importing a barrel. I sent him to Bob and of course he knew exactly where to send the friend who needed help. Not sure if Bob posts here now or not. He used to post on snubguns back in the wild west days. Just wanted to thank him for the help. People new to this hobby need to seek out the old guys with C 3 knowledge to educate yourself. Once the old guys are gone ...so is the knowledge base. I can't tell you how much I miss talking with my old pal Mike Todd. Friday was my 69th birthday, among other things, it occurred to me just how many old friends I've lost here over the last few years. Tempus Fugit friends. R.L.
  6. I have 2 Coopers. One in 6mmBR and .204 Ruger. both in Super Varmint models. Both have very nice wood and are tack drivers. It's not like I'd sell them if the company sold out. I'd just like to know if Cooper is still under the same management or if there's a new owner. Like I said previously, when the bean counters get involved in a buyout of ANY manufacturing business, future quality always suffers in the search for a cheaper product with higher profits for shareholders. Remington and Marlin are perfect examples of what happens after a buyout by corporate investors. Personally I hated to see both companies close down. They were both a big part of my youth, not to mention the importance they played in our National firearms heritage. R.L.
  7. All contact info other than email has been removed from their webpage. They claim on their home web-page they are moving to a larger facility and are closed for the holidays starting in late November 2022, but no further information about when they will reopen. Maybe I missed something but this abrupt explanation sounds a bit odd. Last month there was some scuttlebutt about them going out of business, or maybe selling out to another company. I hope this isn't another corporate buyout by a capital venture company. We all know what happens to a previously good product produced by gun companies when they sellout to market investors. Quality ALWAYS suffers for the benefit of shareholders profit. Anyone know anything about this? R.L.
  8. No problem, I always try to pass on deals I run into to fellow board members. That's what this place is all about! Now tell me Sturm isn't the best gun board out there. R.L.
  9. Just picked up 2 Vortex Viper 6x24x50 EBR2C reticle FFP scopes for $445 ea! EuroOptics has a closeout sale on these, and a couple of other Vortex models. $450 for a FFP scope is a super deal. Happy Birthday to me. Cheers, R.L.
  10. Just called the Kansas distributor. Nice folks. The unit IS manufactured in Canada, Quebec specifically. Too bad too, cause we're only 1-1/2 hr away from Quebec. Think I;m popping for one. BTW the unit will attach to any tripod adapter threaded 1/4"x20. R.L.
  11. Thanks. I can live with Taiwanese components. Mainland Commie China chips, no way. Chinese commies embed spyware in practically every electronic consumer product they export to the US. Even the US military found ghost spyware in products procured from China state owned electronic companies. Fxxkers! Cheers, R.L.
  12. I know their headquarters is in Canada. Direct sales are shipped from Canada. BUT.... is this where they are actually made or is this just another chi-com electronic device with a Canadian Company name. They are taking orders online for delivery starting in December 2022. Delivery is dependant on when you placed your order. Usually the absence of an obvious label or upfront advertising that indicates the manufacturers country of origin, it means it's made in COMMUNIST republic of CHINA. Anyone here own one that can clarify this for me? Feedback on actual usage? Was thinking switching up from my German manufactured "Kurzzeit" PVM-21 chrono to the new Lab Radar doppler system. No way i'm buying another piece of commie manufactured product. Don't care how good it is! Anyone?
  13. On everything Till 12/12/22. Up to 25 lbs. To be clear it's the business in South Dakota. Lots of scam reloading sites out there with similar names. Great place to buy Redding products. I found a Redding form and trim die they had in stock, nobody else had. Shipped quick, good customer service. FWIW, R.L.
  14. Not so fast...half truth. Your statement came from the American Postal Workers Union. Not all USPS operating funds come from sales of stamps and services. When the USPS operates in a deficit for the the year The US treasury allows USPS to "borrow" $$$ from the US treasury to make up the deficit. Is that taxpayer money possibly? HMM? In addition. the USPS has an accounting rule which specifies that US postal workers Health benefits be paid up 75 years IN ADVANCE! In addition to the operating deficit, when USPS health funds run low, the US treasury again...allows the USPS to "borrow" money from the US Treasury. Wouldn't that be nice for someone to pay my health benefits 75 years in advance? R.L.
  15. I'm sure there are USPO workers on the board, and by no means do I wish to offend....however rate increases are not new to the USPS, and IMO rate increases are indicative of a problem which runs far deeper than a rate increase. Tell me one year the USPS was able to work with the budget it was allocated by Congress, without asking for hundreds of millions more for their next budget? I have immediate family that have worked for the USPS for decades. In supervisory and clerk positions. I've heard all the stories of wasteful spending, carelessness and inept, unqualified employees from the inside., It's real, it does exist. This has been going on for decades at the USPS, and the only course of taken action in all these years has been to throw more TAXPAYER money at a bad business model. In the private sector when you don't produce, can't get to work on time, throw your work in the trash.....you get fired. Not so much at USPS. Fast forward. In my business we spent a lot of time on drilling projects in USPS bmc's. (We were actually at the Brentwood, Md BMC the day of the anthrax mailing). I saw first hand the things which I had been told about years before with my own eyes. We did work at the post master generals personal office at L'Enfant Plaza D.C. The waste of tax payer $$$ there, you would have to see as I did ,to believe how bad it was. As a past business owner, after seeing this type of systemic wastefulness...yea I have a problem with constant escalating prices for goods and services delivered to the US public.....using OUR tax money. Who wouldn't? Just my .02 cents. R.L.
  16. Hey Dennis. Long time. Glad to hear you moved from the Peoples Communist republic of Oregon. We left Virginia for the same reasons, and probably a few more. Yea packaging was stupid HUMONGOUS. I got these 20 rounders before prices went up. They actually work great in my SAIGA 12. The smaller 12 rnd drums have to be fitted a tad due to discrepancies with Saiga's quality control. A little light filing sometimes, but they work reliably too. Thanks. Cheers, R.L.
  17. According to my local post master, prices have gone up temporarily on flat rate boxes during the Christmas holiday. Price Increase's to come back down on 12/26. THEN USPS is raising it's prices permanently on first class mall, flat rate boxes and probably everything else they can up charge you for after the first of the year. Merry Christmas/Happy New year From the Biden Crime Family!!! R.L.
  18. Just got an email from this retard. I swear you'd think these foreign POS would at least check their English spelling before emailing this sxit. R.L.
  19. Unless the firearms are "registered" by their arbitrary deadline in December 2022. Many WW2 relics with a lot of history and blood in their past will be destroyed, after turning in their LEGALLY OWNED "possessions" if not registered. Registration is not free, and requires a bit of paperwork, in an attempt to deter maintaining possession. Take note and buckle up... this is the beginning of a worldwide firearms confiscation initiative, as called for by the New World Order masters. Won't be long and they will begin the test confiscations right here in the USA, using the so called red flag laws as camouflage for their attack on our 2nd amendment rights. R.L.
  20. Indeed! Don't despair. I'm sure the miscreant left aided by their congressional counterparts will figure out something even sicker for sane people to accept as "normal". Liberals, plumbing the depths of depravity, seeking new depths of perversion, never reached before in mankind. Going where no man has gone before..wait a minute.... that was Star Trek. R.L.
  21. for the FBI, according to Montana attorney general. Welcome to the new CCCP, that once was America. R.L.
  22. Go to : StopGunScams.com Currently they list 2062 known gun scam sites!! R.L.
