  1. Thanks all for the responses. I had a lot of people contact me about these, I went by the time stamp on emails and Jim was first to respond. These shotguns are sold.
  2. Ok guys, The 2--Saiga 12's that I had listed here as sold, are going back up for sale. *****If your state prohibits these weapons, don't waste my time or yours trying to buy them because I ALWAYS verify current addresses.***** Both weapons are NIB, black straight stock, 19" chrome lined barrel with all factory supplied items, and owners. $1000 ea plus shipping. Thanks, R.L.
  3. Unfortunately the old guys, the old guard of this hobby if you wish, are dying off at an accelerated pace. At least it seems that way to this old guy anyway. I've lost a number of good friends and acquaintances in this hobby over the last two years. Tim Bixler was another knowledgeable and skilled old timer. "Bix" made the quietist OTB .308 suppressor on the market IMO. The Mark 4 and Mark 4-D. I have one of each and will never sell either. Every time I use my Mark 4-d it brings back memories of me begging him on the phone to make another run of these, which he graciously did. I treasure both and the memories. R.L.
  4. Sitting up here in my 3rd floor office at home, listening to the wind howl (going down to 20 below with the wind chill tonight!!) and missing my old friend Mike Todd. Life is very short friends and death is the abrupt reminder of how impermanent life really is. I can remember nights like this in the past, Mike and I would be exchanging PM's for hour's. Talking about life, the really stupid and fun sxit we both did as much younger guys. Machine guns, women. Regrets from the past and present we both had and how we would do things over if we could. Sometimes life won't allow do overs, and takes you away before you can start. We all take life for granted, thinking life just goes on forever...at least for us. It's everyone else that does the dying. Then you lose a close friend, and death becomes more real. Mike was a diamond in the rough, but one in a million. No matter how harsh his posts may have been at times, if he went over the line, he always came back to apologize. We both got into a few pissing matches between us, but always patched things up and moved on. Most of this harshness was due to the extreme amount of pain meds Mike had to stay on to live some sort of life. Missing you brother Mike. Hope you've finally got the peace you deserved. R.L.
  5. Firearms alone are not reflective of personally held policies or traditions. Firearms are used to CHANGE policy and or regimes by either party or persuasion. The mere fact that someone from the left likes firearms, has very little to do with their true feelings about social issues, customs and moors. They...liberals STILL think it's ok to kill unborn children, sell their body parts for $$$, that there are more than 2 sexes, that it is "natural" and a right for same sex marriage, that health care is a "right" that they are entitled to as much free shix as they can abscond and or cheat the gov out of. Or better yet make YOU pay for their free shix through high taxation. Sorry I'm old, ornery hard headed, prejudiced, and fixed in my ways. I still believe in the same archaic and antiquated morals and life lessons I have learned and lived by for the last 67 years. The left is NEVER to be trusted, most especially with firearms in their possession. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...it's s duck. Liberals suck, and THEY are the poison that is, slowly, systemically destroying this country!! FWIW, R.L.
  6. Guys, I would like to update my original post. In this time of highly traitorous behavior by the left, the deep state and democratic(oxymoron) anti-American trash we need to circle the wagons among ourselves in this 2nd amendment community. Yes I did have a problem concerning my parts, and I appreciate the support and responses, but I'm happy to announce that problem has since been resolved. Proof again of the immeasurable value of this board. Rollin is making good on a mutually agreed upon figure, this case has been closed satisfactorily by both parties. At this point it matters not why this happened, it's been fixed , I'm willing to forgive what was, and move forward with what is. I don't want to be one of the guys that helps the left to divide us, especially over money. We need to circle the wagons to save this country, our Constitution and most especially our 2nd amendment rights!! I'm very happy this problem has been resolved and now it is time to move forward as a unified front against the real enemy..... liberals, the deep state and socialism. Thank you Rollin and fellow Sturm board members, R.L. AKA Welsh Warrior
  7. OK guys, I just found a couple of Browning BL22 grade 2's, I just gotta have, so I'm dropping the price on these Saiga 12's to $750 ea. plus shipping for Christmas. I'll hold this price until 12/26, then back to $1K ea. R.L.
  8. well. if we had a pic that would help!
  9. Spent with family , friends or both. I'm taking the day off from all of the covid, election, liberals, antfa/g issues of the day....at least for the day, and I suggest everyone else do the same. This sxit will eat you up 24 hr's a day 7 days a week. Let the soy boyz and girlz complete with their sissy peg pants, skinny arms, no musculature, and purple hair, enjoy their tofu and vegetable turkey. We eat meat in this household and all of the trimmings and are proud of the great American Thanksgiving holiday tradition along with hunting on Thanksgiving Day, family, good friends and giving thanks to the Lord for our blessings. Lets these freaks pray to their pedophile prophet, Satan or whatever their false God is known by & may they all burn in hell. Time to remember what this holiday is really about, giving thanks to our forefathers for establishing the greatest country in history. ( if we can just save it from full destruction from the commies....) As long as you teach our history, culture, and traditions to your children, never to be forgotten or rewritten, it will live on to be passed down to following generations of Patriots. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, R.L. Coming to you from the boonies of Maine
  10. I have 2 NIB, as in unfired unmolested Saiga 12 shotguns. Straight black stock. $1000 ea. plus shipping and any transfer fees. No trades, no offers. Thanks, R.L.
  11. Well it's been about 2 months at the new home in Maine, and we love it here. Maine is wide open, people are great and nobody f's with you. People here just do their thing and let you do the same. 180 deg out from Northern Virginia where everyone lives 5 houses to a driveway, must adhere to absurd HOA rules and march in bootstep with the rest of the lemmings, or you become a social pariah or worse. Yes there are some liberal asshats in Maine , mostly in Portland, and even Skowhegan , but here in the Kennebec Valley it's Trump Country and the signs are STILL everywhere. Loggers, hunting guides, log truck jockey's, rough but hard working folk. We bought last year before the Chinese Communist rat fxcks, Democratic party traitors, and the intelligence community conspired to intentionally bring covid to the USA as part of their long term plan to steal the Presidential Election of 2020, that's a story for another time. Prices were low and houses were everywhere to buy. That has changed dramatically now. Not too many homes with property, and the prices are now being bid up over asking prices, a la the 2008 housing market crash. Seems like they never learn, or do they? Almost like they do it intentionally...Hmmm? Around October 2020,we noticed an inordinate number of Mass-A Chews-ZIt license plates here in our part of Maine complete with their well documented egotistic, psychotic drivers behind the wheel to boot! Joy, lucky Maine. God these people are just f-ing OBNOXIOUS!!! N.J. drivers got nothing on these assclowns. Anywho...we are hearing from almost all of our new business contacts and the locals that these covid carpetbaggers, since they are so special, ignore all of the Covid rules here in Maine and drive here to get out of their own covid infected crap-hole state. Completely disregarding the quarantine order by the dimwit governor of this state. In the process bringing with them, the very covid virus they seek to get away from, sending the infectiion rates dramatically upward for local Mainers. Total, narcissistic irresponsible, carpet bagging assholes! Infections here were almost non-existent even up till 2 months ago. Our bank lobbies were open, restaurants were open for sit-down, with the usual ridiculous 6' rule and a mask which does nothing to stop this infection. Feel good measures at best. A normal life was returning for Mainers, but oh no these Chew-Zitz carpetbaggers are just too special. The law doesn't apply to them, Sound familiar? Why is it liberals fxck up everything they touch? R.L.
  12. Thanks. Peter Wright .... the holy grail of anvils. They demand big bucks if the table isn't rounded over or chipped. Looked for one for years, but they were either all wanged up or prices were sky high. The antiquey crowd has f'ed up the market for anvils, swages and hand tools over the years. People with money but no skills. The stupid f-cks can't hit a lick, but they think it's cool to own the hardware of craftsmen and day dream about having a skill. Makes it hard for contemporary smiths to outfit a shop. I ended up buying 2--Kohlswa, Swedish anvils and after 40 years, still have both. Unfortunately, Kohlswa like a lot of other good things, has gone out of business. Peddinhaus is still in business in Germany but has been bought out by a French concern. Nimba is one of the last US manufacturers of anvils. I really wanted to buy American, so I waited a year on the waiting list, paid my $3K and was very happy to own a piece of American history. It rings very nicely. I like a live anvil personally, some smiths don't. We live not far from the original Peavey forge in Eddington, Maine. Home of the original "Peavey" tool used for logging. Been in business for over 150 years, making great forged logging tools. All of my forge stuff is in Virginia. My work is most utilitarian type stuff, tools etc., not the snazzy artsy type stuff. I can make all kinds of tools, bolts fasteners etc, but I'm not artistically predisposed. My next endeavor will be custom axes and knives come Spring. Cheers, Bob
  13. Guys, my original and "ONLY" intent posting this was to make others here aware of the true story and to place this problem square in the presence of Rollin's peers in an attempt to recover what was owed, since I was basically being ignored otherwise. Believe me, I get no pleasure in doing this whatsoever. Having lost a good friend here last month, Mike Todd & now having a lost another friend over money no less, has saddened me greatly. ****Rollin has just responded by text to me that he is sending funds now and would send more later. Please, I'm not trying to destroy the guy, I just want to get paid for the parts. I really do appreciate the support though, thank you.**** There was a lot of crap posted on the 1919a4 board the first time I mentioned this incident a year or so ago. The board "Manson-ists" actually attempted to make ME look like the bad guy, talked a lot of non-sense, said it was my fault before running me off "their" board. (Man.. how that place has devolved to an inbred toilet bowl!) That didn't set well with me and felt the need to get things straight. One saying my deceased Navy Commander father liked to say was : "No good deed goes unpunished". I'm sure this all started with good intentions on both sides. Very sad it had to end this way. Friends, communication is paramount for everything in life. When communication is lost everything only gets worse. This was so avoidable....very sad. Best to you all R.L. Coming to you from the boonies of Maine
  14. Actually it's sitting in my Virginia shop right now.. I used it for some small projects while still in Va., but nothing like I have planned for the new shop in Maine. I must move that 500lb Nimba anvil, 3 more Kohlswa anvils from 50-200lbs, my Anyang power hammer and an entire shop full of tools to Maine this Spring. Really looking forward to new forge projects, but NOT the shop move! Cheers, R.L.
  15. As some of you may know, my start in sales here on Sturm dates back in the 90's selling NOS USGI 1919 Browning parts. During the next 16 or so years, I met a bunch of some really great folks here, and a few goobers too. But mostly solid people and I enjoyed my run. I decided at one point to give up parts sales about 6 years ago so I sent 4 or 5 USPS flat rate boxes of parts to someone who used to post here I had known for abut 20 years. I still do good faith business and have sent many a part/s to people before their money ever arrived, since we developed mutual trust over the years. This guy who dicked me over was someone I knew for 20 years Mike Todd warned me about this guy after the fact, but it was too late. Now I'm absolutely positive this post will generate some negative responses, as every M.G. hero/dealer/manufacturer etc has it's own following and peanut gallery. Personal attacks in support of their hero's are predictable. But before you supporters of this guy say one word, listen and read this post first. There are no other extraneous circumstances, secrets or deals concerning this situation other than the fact I was never paid for these parts plain and simple. I pains me greatly to "out" this guy, but I think ya'll should hear this story directly from me instead of the peanut gallery over on the 1919A4 board. The "guy" in question is Rollin Laufdahl, know to many of you as lucky 13. I considered Rollin to be a good friend and have sold parts to him for years. Some very rare and difficult to find 1919 parts too. I don't know what happened to this guy, but his word is absolutely worthless to me now. He has promised on more than 3 occasions to pay me for the parts, and the bottom line is he has not paid me a dime or attempted to pay me. It's been over 3 years. Bullshit excuses and more promises he never keeps. P.F.S! He has ducked phone calls and left my emails unanswered. Unfortunately, I've lost all respect for this guy now, but refuse to just walk away without exposing this out and out rip off. Rollin, if you're reading this, please no more lame excuses or bullshit stories please. I sent you my new Maine address by text which you refused to acknowledge to date. The only thing I want, is to be paid for these parts at this point. Once you have paid me I'll post an update here on Sturm, we both walk away and we're done as friends. No calls, no emails, just send me money for these parts I sent you. A sad day in Maine, R.L.
  16. Evening gents. Looks like I'm back on my favorite site. I have service now, albeit a little slow, but better than nothing. Hope ya'll are well and voting for President Trump in 2020. Both the wife and I voted in Maine this year. They had 6 different candidates on the Maine ballot.....WTF?? A first for me. Never heard of such crapola. It's not what a lot of people think about politics here in Maine. Out here in the boonies of Maine we're pretty much ALL Trump voters. Back in the larger cities of Maine it's mostly demo-rats. Lobster is $6.99 a lb, fresh haddock is $4.99 a lb. but regular everyday groceries are a bit more here due to the distances involved in delivery. No Costco, No Sam's Club but lots of quiet and nobody to f with you. I can shoot off my porch if I want or anywhere else on the property for that matter. All in all it's been a good move. Making arrangements for my new shop right next to the house, so by spring I'll be back in business blacksmithing and welding part-time. Thinking of buying a new snow mobile. Anyone have first hand experience or suggestion on brand? I've never owned one. Could use some advice. Cheers, R.L.
  17. Kris, Maine is a beautiful state. People are friendly there and the population is about 99% Caucasian. Whitest state in the Union. Or was I not supposed to say that? Oh well. English is the official language spoken along with a little Canuk, the closer you get to Canada. EHHH? All of the citizen's in Maine are NOT liberals as some believe and the gun laws are few and far between. Portland, Bangor and Bath are the magnet cities for the fruit cake soy crowd. I live in the boonies above Skowhegan. Tons of Trump signs everywhere. Maine is not unlike other states with liberal legislators, the tail wags the dog in Maine also. Far more Patriots in Maine than the libtards will admit to!! Actually more of "us" than "them"! I'll have internet service when I return to Maine. Wifey got some kind of string and tin can service. Thanks for the post, stay well. R.L.
  18. I'm back in Virginia for a medical evaluation this week. Unfortunately, I heard of Mikes passing while without internet service in Maine. Matt Heck notified me by text. I could go on for paragraphs about Mike, but right now I'm just too sad. Mike not unlike me was a cranky old guy who sometimes stepped over the boundaries of civil behavior, but he always came back and apologized and made it better. I wish I had a fraction of Mikes personal knowledge of this hobby we all love so much. His knowledge was vast and he didn't mind sharing it either. Inside that rough edge was a kind, lonely and generous man. For those that didn't know Mike...well you really missed out! He was a real character. Mike was a mans , man, a scholar, albeit a little rough around the edges, but a gem and gentleman none the less. I'll miss him and our late night discussions about guns, life, liberty and cancer. Young men, take care of your health. Get tested regularly. No-one is immune and the sooner detected the better your chances of a recovery. God speed my friend, I'll miss you. R.L.
  19. Thanks Kris. Keep up the good work and the endless fight against worthless liberal maggots trying to destroy this country! Remember when the scumbag, anarchist commies start up their attempted "armed" (Laugh, laugh) soyboy takeover in November after the election, head shots , no mercy!!! Time for a "deep cleanse"!! Cheers, Bob Leyshion, Jr.
  20. It's been a long rewarding association for me here at Sturm. Met a lot of great people since Andy, David and Buddy opened the doors here over 20 years ago. I'll miss being here until we get internet service. Whenever that is. Somebody please keep an eye on my friend Mike Todd to make sure he's ok. Been checking in on him on a regular basis, but it won't be so easy now until I get a service provider up North.. Matt Heck, I'm leaving you in charge of the Mike Todd check in routine.Send me text updates about Mike if you would. Seems like we've been working on this move forever, but finally the time has come. Moving trucks are coming next week, and a new life in Maine. Unfortunately there is very little internet service in the rural part of Maine we're moving to. We've heard in a year or so we'll have hi speed cable available, but that's a long time at my age. In the mean time I need to build a new shop and then transport all of my equipment so I can stay busy. Gonna try ice fishin', snowmobiling and being a lazy ass for a while. I figure I'm due after working since I was 15yo! I set another personal milestone today after 44 years in business. We did our last drilling job today. Kinda' weird knowing you'll not be swinging all that heavy gear another day in the future. Not sure how it's going to feel not waking up at 3:45 am now. I hope I don't end up like a lot of my railroad carman brothers that died within 6 months of their retirement. I'll stay busy until my time is up. My best to you all, God bless you all and this great country Talk to you all sometime in the future......hopefully. R.L. AKA Welsh Warrior.
  21. Try Eurooptics. Ask for Jason. They usually have a supply of demo and used scopes. R.L.
  22. Got an email from this asshat this morning...unsolicited of course, so whoever this POS is his scamming material is coming off a gun board, possibly Sturm. DONT" SEND $$$ to this a-hole!!. R.L.
  23. Ya know I love Sweden, or used to. Such a beautiful country. We used to buy a lot of Swedish drilling equipment. I'd visit the factory once a year on vacation...that is until the influx of sub Saharan moslem trash people were ushered in. Unbelievable problems in Sweden now. It's shameful. Malmo is a disgrace now. Areas even native born citizens cannot enter there.Finland is holding fast so far, but expect the same to happen there. Helsinki is also very beautiful. Been thre many time sin the past.I'm glad my world travels were done when I was young and Europe was a place to visit in the 80's and 90's. I wouldn't visit now if the tickets were free. Italy is an absolute open latrine. Very sad. R.L.
  24. If it wasn't so liberal, and you could own guns I'd move there. It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, and I've traveled a lot of the world. I visit every now and then after staying with friends in England driving across the Severn River. They won't even carry gun rags in the stores there. Told me they don't NEED guns in Wales. WTF happened to the Celtic Warriors of long ago. They turned into Celtic soy boyz and girlz! The whole world is going nuts. R.L. AKA Welsh Warrior
  25. Interesting...What part of Wales? My family is from the Lower Gower in Swansea. R.L.
