I was told that this may have been for a Japanese Rifle but I am thinking it was for a Japanese sword. All markings are shown in the pics. there is a shipping label on the outside of this case but i cannot make out any info on them. this is not something you see everyday. someone on here may have more info. piece of history price is 500.00 as this only thing i gave seen close to this was quite a bit more. shipping to be paid by buyer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Definitely Japanese, Asked someone who came from China about it since it I know the characters were Chinese characters (Japanese does write in Chinese characters) He couldn't tell you if it was a sword or a rifle.. but he thought it might be a sword due to the size.
