dave579 Posted March 26 Report Share Posted March 26 Hey on the search for an MG08 tripod or sled seems almost impossible to find one on its own not already paired with another MG08. Ive even seen some people attempt to mount one to a 1919 tripod. Honestly will consider anything at this point so long as the price is reasonable and it will actually work. Red Cent Posted April 4 Report Share Posted April 4 Make your own. All you need is a adapter to what ever tripod you have or chose. The 08 has the top & bottom trunnion lugs. It needs a large U- shape steel bottom & top strap, any willing weld/ machine shop could Fab something. A shop owner will love that work or go total snowflake. Take a simple sketch, leave the gun in the back seat. Think M60 platform pintle with the heavy steel U shape welded to it, And stretched out back for the rear gun support. Try google for industrial pipe hanger pics. I once made a table top MG08 cradle out of heavy 2x4's & plywood. Screwed it down & it Freakin worked until a sled came along.
