BigBoy99
I have some 12.7x108mm ammo. All of the bullet tips are marked with yellow. The only reference I can find for yellow tipped bullets is for the "heavy bullet" for 7.62x54Rmm ammo. Does anyone know what the yellow tip designates on this ammo? The three different head stamps on the yellow tipped rounds are 381 88, 9381 78 and 11 88. Appreciate any assistance.
har1690
Yellow tip ammunition indicates an observation bullet. This bullet creates a bright flash and puff of smoke on impact, allowing the shooter to see where the bullet impacted and adjust accordingly. Now that we know what yellow-tip bullets and red-tip bullets are, we should be able to intuit what and yellow-and-red tip means. m.miller0412
They look like reloads using original primed Chinese cases and pulled Dominican yellow tipped projectiles.
