The Germans experimented with Zinc as an alternate production material for flare pistols as a cost saving alternative. The guns produced using Zinc are significantly heavier than earlier examples. Zinc also proved to be a markedly less durable material leading to damage to many of the barrels from these variants. This example retains its original barrel and features excellent grips with a nice even finish throughout. The photos below tell the story on this one. All together a very nice example of a scarce flare gun. -Price: $1800.00 Additional images: https://imgur.com/a/ZljoTSj 1941 Z-Gun Kampfpistole This is easily one of the rarest variants of the LP34 series. The Kampfpistole, also known as the “Z” gun, was designed as a light weight, easy to produce, anti material weapon. The intent was to issue these with purpose built rifle style grenades and other specialized munitions to increase the fire power of the standard infantry squad. Variants that employed a shoulder stock as well as a grenade launcher style sight were produced along side of the standard pistol variants. This example is one of the later style. The condition is excellent with a nice even finish throughout and nearly mint grips. The numbers match and both the barrel and frame are appropriately proofed. -Price: $2000.00 Additional images: https://imgur.com/a/amxkvXm Edited April 3, 2023 by BoomDoc
