With the new hotness being the shorty 40mm launchers, can older 12 or 9” barrels be shortened like you would shorten a shotgun barrel? Lots of people cut 12s down to 9 as they are harder to find. The LMT "shorty40" pirate gun is 7" but uses a different receiver. That way it doesn't stick our past the barrel. A standard receiver is just short of a 9" barrel. So the shorty receiver is about 1.5" shorter than standard. I did have a guy show me how he modified a standard barrel to work on the shorty receiver. It involved lengthening the slot on the cocking bar that is peened to the barrel.
