203 barrel question

Yeah but you won't get too much shorter than 9" with with traditional receiver. Lots of people cut 12s down to 9 as they are harder to find.

The LMT "shorty40" pirate gun is 7" but uses a different receiver.  You can modify longer barrels to work with them though

May want to send it out to anodizing afterwards for longevity.

What are the differences between the two receivers?

The receiver on the shorty 40 is shorter. That way it doesn't stick our past the barrel. A standard receiver is just short of a 9" barrel. So the shorty receiver is about 1.5" shorter than standard.

I did have a guy show me how he modified a standard barrel to work on the shorty receiver. It involved lengthening the slot on the cocking bar that is peened to the barrel. I have the pictures saved somewhere.
