  1. Mike, you're right. I have a strong faith in God, and believe in the principles of repentence and forgiveness. That is why I censored my first posts, and wrote that he did respond. Without repentence, there is no forgiveness. Sorry doesn't cut it. There was no apology, that's not what I'm saying. Repent means, to change. A change of heart, resulting in a change of actions. From the heart, deciding to change, and ceasing to commit the offense. I refrained from filing a suit in court, when he responded, saying that if I was unhappy, he would refund my money. Unhappy does not begin to descibe it. Angry, shocked, mollified, at a loss as to why someone would grind on an antique receiver, much less, pass it off as something of good quality, when it was, in fact, useless. Literally useless. That's hardly breaking the surface of how I feel about this. I have a wife and five kids. My daughter has no legs. My wife and I both work full time to make ends meet. This kind of crooked dealing is unacceptable. Using US MAIL to perpetuate this fraud, I believe, is a Federal offence. Mail fraud is a serious offense. I will file a suit against Jack Holsey and Sandra Holsey. If he follows through, refunding my money, I will ship the gun back, at my expense. That is the only solution, outside of court. If he accepts that, I too will repent, and have the case dismissed. I hope he has it in his heart to change.
  2. He has now responded to me and said that he will make it right. I appreciate that. I will delete or edit my posts to reflect that, when he does come through with the money, and I send back the gun. If you read these posts now, and later see that they are gone, it will be because he did make it right. Now, I have to wait, and look for a good receiver that I can use. What a bummer! I was excited to build a nice 8mm. This just wasn't workable.
  3. I offered him a chance to make it right, and I will post if he does.
  4. I had the same bad experience. I bought an antique Turk Mauser with a scout mount and "Trijicon SRS". The Trijicon turned out to be a cheap Chinese Knockoff, as sold on Ebay for $70, same serial number and everything. The rifle was completely worthless, as he had taken a grinder to the receiver. The barrel is completely shot out, safety won't flip, rounds won't feed because he hacked the box all up. Doesn't eject. Bolt is way loose. Nothing can be done to fix it, since he ground on the receiver. The return address on the box was Sandra Holsey. They didn't include parts of the stock that were specifically included in the deal, a bipod, and scope side mount. $850, shipped to Alaska. The whole package wasn't worth more than $100. The auction was almost over when I emailed him with questions about it, so I foolishly bought it outside GB, though I had first suggested that we go through them.
