Gunguy96 Posted November 17, 2023 Report Share Posted November 17, 2023 Was curious if anyone has tried this? DI works fine but I have already had a gas tube fail, and rather quickly at that. Only three 30 round mags fired before the tube drooped. May have just swapped to a bad gas tube? Im not sure but I let my barrel cool down between intense firing sessions so it doesn't prematurely degrade and normally do 3 round bursts from a bench with it, not full on back-to-back mag dumps. SGT Fish Posted November 17, 2023 Report Share Posted November 17, 2023 Thats gotta be a faulty tube. I ran my M4 all weekend doing 30rd and even 60rd mag/drum dumps. Sometimes 3 mags back to back. Everything still fine. I would recommend swapping it with an inconel tube if you plan on firing in full auto often. Not sure any piston retrofit would be that much better.
