  1. JOHN, if you can get him away from his desk to look DAVE at SARCO should be able to dig you out a complete bolt  they had a ton. they should also have everything to make the sub cartridge assembly. he has been there so long motivation varies at times. he will tell me, "are you kidding" NO then someone else gets the same thing 2 days later. but the bolt is the key THEN the feed.       once you get that all the rest is super easy to make or have made . I made my first one and got it right the first attempt and I had NEVER seen one. just make the barrel as lite as possible until the muzzle and "float" the chamber the same as the COLT 1911 .22 conversion barrel. good luck! mike

  2. I would say first choice would be the reg housing/parts kit. the disc lever/ selector/ all springs with several "9" springs. one slide at least a couple round bolts and 1 hammer and you should be good to go. the parts are cheep with no paperwork so get plenty. no way would I consider ANY bolt not original USGI. also I never use any bolts that have been refinished. funny things happen to some alloys and some chemicals. and its easy to avoid. I have never seen a CARBINE break a round bolt with USGI ammo, but have seen countless break. its NOT THAT EASY to duplicate the pressure curve when reloading even a LOW pressure/velocity round will do it, because the curve is wrong and too much residual pressure when the gun unlocks is the issue. I shoot countless thousands of reloads, but my carbines only see USGI or top quality commercial (not much) your BLUE SKY carbine is fine. most came back from KOREA and once they learned to go easy stamping the barrel no problem. at first MANY barrels were ruined. a high volume dealer is offering a WINCHESTER HOST with a reg'td group  at $10k and its been there a while so shop with care and you will be good to go. carbines are tough to beat. easy to handle care for and use. kids love them as much as you will ENJOY!  mike

  3. I DONT log or track them ,and too many guns since, sometime after spring 2009 but in fact an original as found completely arsenal rebuilt KOREAN war era FLAME thrower in the chest with recent hydro test data hammered well over $20k at auction and I wouldn't pay $2k for it but SOMEONE DID.  I agree ALMOST completely about the DD deal also. we DD idiots most likely have whats being offered on a regular basis. but GOD help us when that special one pops up. I anxiously waited my turn in line while a long time dealer I know had 3 Solothurn SA-18's bought another for $16,000. MORE than another at the show was priced at just because this one had WHEELS! also I know of more than one that privately sold in excess of $30k because nothing had been for sale in 8 yrs. within months 3 major collections hit the auction with them and better examples hardly made $20k and its been down hill since. NOT FOR LONG. the newbie with a LAHTI will see one, get bit and the sky is the limit. my GERMAN PAK-37 was easy at $6,500. nothing I know if has sold since and if decent? I don't think $75k will touch one. the WORST factor about DD's is a place to shoot one. if you don't own your own place its multi use land. and right when you yank the lanyard at a 2000 yrd target some guy on a 400 HUSKY stops to look at it. (happened to me)  when collecting / using anything RARITY is way down the list of importance. too rare, and no body knows it exists. when and how it was used and by how many are the major factors I watched a as new perfect 1928 Maxwell coupe, 1 of 3 known to exist hammer at $12k and 2 lots later one of the millions 31 ford model A's hammered at $21,500. its so danged hard to stay on course with some of these threads, we got WAY OFF here. but the statements were made and needed to be addressed. hell its all fun anyhow right? cheers mike

  4. ALEX, stay away from the "bolt" guns!  BELIEVE ME,  I KNOW how important the bottom line is when starting out, but if its wrong , its wrong at any price. I also know there are a LOT OF HAPPY bolt gun owners , but every UNHAPPY OWNER cancels 20+ happy in my book , and I know way too many of those. when the semi UZI's first landed it caused more excitement in this trade than I have ever seen to this day. prior there was NOTHING and you could buy 3 LIVE full auto MAC-10's for less than an all metal JAP UZI TOY copy back then. THERE WERE NO UZI PARTS EITHER. BOLTS were priceless and when the SEMI's landed , it got worse. for almost 2 years the unregistered "slotted" bolts were openly traded at all the shows as no rulings had come down. when the 86 ban was announced , people were numbering ANYTHING made of metal to get in the system along with a lot of JUNK. although some of the bolts were indeed top notch. ONE of the MAIN problems is all the GOOD stuff has disappeared and I have seen dealers that still have 20 or more bolts never sold or used since day one except maybe another dealer. many will run fine for a while then that  out of spec hand fitted SPL extractor that was tediously tweaked to work quits and a full magazine without a jam is only a dream. the UZI is in my top 5 and I have SEVERAL. I could go on for hours about why and have many times on this board. just for clarity I will list my thoughts on best to worst so you can decide.B-4 I do, I will say this, several times this year you could have bought the best in the trade several times for less than $12,000. EASY!                                                                                       first choice would be an IMI BUILT action arms semi auto converted to select fire and a registered receiver the caliber on the paper work has NO "real" effect and it can be used to fire any round you can get parts for without changing the forms/ markings  on the gun etc. change it at will. some will be done exactly like a factory machine gun and others will still have some of the "defeat" features that will require barrel mods only. no big deal either way just be aware. I use original barrels turned to fit.                   second choice a VECTOR arms registered receiver made from anything, but insist on a reliability test so avoid unfired NIB                                                                     third choice, a USED GROUP INDUSTRY registered receiver proven to run. again avoid NIB many wont run and cant be returned when they don't                                       fourth choice forget the UZI and buy a REISING M-50 for 1/2 the cost.  in a nut shell make sure the DEALER will back up what he promises and beware of all the guys in the business that promise it all. LET THE GUN DO ALL THE TALKING!   WELCOME TO THE FOLD AND ENJOY  MIKE

  5. THUMPY, here we go, those damned trusts had to show up again (sigh) if you are THE TRUSTEE its all the same, travel / move um at will. YES ! any C+R, MG or NOT can travel with the license holder at will.  I have ALWAYS advised AGAINST and say BEWARE any type of trust if you have anything in one, GET IT OUT! a close friend lost his entire collection because a son on the trust was in possession of a MG. he had 2 prev DWI's and when coming back from shooting, the trailer ball came off. no major damage , BUT a trooper stopped to assist and during the routine DL check, records opened . he blew .001 over max allowed and was arrested. low and behold there was a roach of that evil weed in the ashtray. NEEDLESS to say, the MG (UZI) was seized at the scene. I week later ATF SIEZED EVERYTHING at the ranch, firearm related NOT just the trust stuff. many passed down 3rd generation ranch gun antiques. personal hunting rifles and handguns. ALL the ammo and reloading equipment, I mean everything! not sure about the AIR GUNS so they may not be completely defenseless. attorney says no hope for return and most likely ALL will be destroyed long B-4 the DWI trial which may not happen for a year .B-4 the trust he had owned only a couple NFA items and was not a big player, all the trust fiasco came up when he decided to get several cans for hunting. a local dealer planted the trust idea claiming it would cut the wait time down for approvals and of course no CLEO. I warned him the CLEO was due to be purged soon and almost begged him to avoid the trust. he owns a large ranch and its where all family hunted and used most of the firearms . I explained so little was gained it was not worth the risk, but the dealer prevailed and he even paid transfer fees to move his personal NFA all to the trust. he argued now my son can take ANYTHING HOME , its a win win and I was completely wrong.  SURE WORKED OUT WELL FOR HIM DIDNT IT?

  6. an out of state LONG TIME MG shooter requested the exact date of our 2020 spring shoot and when I asked why was surprised to find out he did not know the limitations OR benefits the various FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE'S ALLOW! so I thought I would clear some of them up for others that may not know. I am not a full fledged expert in any case BUT this information is 100% correct and has been documented to me by ATF agents over the years  my main goal is to show why ANY LEVEL of FFL holder SHOULD ALSO have a C+R. first NO dealer can deliver out of his state a firearm to another dealer in his home state UNLESS it was ordered and invoiced prior to leaving his state to make the delivery. so a transaction cant be initiated by the out of state dealer UNLESS ITS TO A CURRENT C+R HOLDER from ANY state IN any state and the item meets the requirements. a C+R HOLDER need not file ANY form 5 or seek prior approval to move to another state any C+R MACHINE GUN. of course a C+R holder can be in ANY state and buy from ANYONE , ANY C+R on impulse and take instant possession. so in many cases I have seen in the past no matter what level FFL one holds, having an additional C+R FFL can be helpful "just in case" the ATF will not advise or prosecute on any STATE laws or  city codes so its the C+R holders responsibility  to comply with them if any. if you like the old stuff, don't be afraid to get one.

  7. FOX, this exact question comes up quite often and I enjoy helping with answers. but there is no easy short one. when considering a carbine, understand the ONLY difference in a M-1 or a M-2 is the markings!    early WWII carbines were all semi auto only, the first FULL auto's were "field" conversions and some FULL ONLY. in late 1943 INLAND started exploring  select fire options and came up with a set of parts that were a simple "plug and play" change of parts. many left the plant with a "2" hand stamped over the "1" on the receiver. which brings up a VERY IMPORTANT LEGAL ISSUE. any carbine stamped M-2 in any fashion is a MACHINE GUN even if it will only fire SEMI auto no matter the circumstance. ALSO, any complete set of conversion parts OR near complete, is a MACHINE GUN even if no carbine is present. (more later) in our market if the receiver say's M-2, it MUST be a registered receiver and a "law full" owner may have all the full auto conversion parts he wants as "spares". over the years prior to the 1986 cut off, many complete sets of parts were registered and they can be moved from carbine to carbine at will. MANY OWNERS OF THOSE REGISTERED CONVERSION PARTS, stamped a host gun M-2 on the receiver to make it look "correct". BAD mistake because now the parts can ONLY be used in it FOREVER ! unless one completely destroys it to move the registered parts B-4 moving them to another M-1 carbine. now enter the "COMMERCIAL PRODUCED" CARBINES. at the start, the receivers were the same as the USGI carbines and ALL the GOVT parts would fit and they used them in production until they could no longer buy enough to keep up. they started making their own parts that matched USGI, but slowly began to make changes to make production easier and at a lower cost. soon many parts were so different the receivers and barrels were changed to match and USGI parts would no longer fit. THOSE GUNS ONE SHOULD AVOID IF POSSIBLE, as the quality dropped at the same time. without hard study and serial numbers in hand I cant say when / where or who, but there are some key factors the give them away. the easiest guide can be seen at a quick glance of the operating rod, where the bolt lug engages the OP-ROD there is a large angled hole and you can see the bolt lug in the cam groove with the action open or closed. AVOID THAT TYPE ! they seem to work OK when in good condition but fail with much use and NEVER have faith in one as a MG. ONE CAN STILL BUY A GOOD CONDITION USGI CARBINE WELL UNDER $800 with care full shopping and I would suggest that or better as first choice all the commercial variations except the one mentioned at $400 or less make decent shooters for some, I would not spend $150 for one if I had to use it! if considering a select fire carbine everyone has different goals in mind, as a "shooter" the registered parts make sense if the cost fits. for a long time that was the lowest cost option, but lately asking prices have jumped big time and registered receivers are offered for less more often than not. I beat the dog poop out of mine and use a "kit" moving it gun to gun to save barrels. the original M-2 never gets shot anymore. I still have my first QUALITY M-1 as it came from DCM in 1963. the total with shipping was under $70.00 it looks unfired, has never been rebuilt and has EVERY early feature. there have been well over 300 since it came and they are HIGH up on my favs list. I consider myself a CARBINE EXPERT because I have used them so much and continue to do so weekly when I can walk and use demands legal knowledge. stay away from the commercial guns, if a bit short, take the time to save for a USGI at the level that suits your needs  and you wont regret it. parts are still reasonable so gather a couple extra "ROUND BOLTS", an op rod or two, and all the parts in the trigger group or better yet a complete group. MAGAZINES are very important and every one wants 30 round. DONT BUY ANY MARKED M-2 ! they have been around so long most folks believe they are USGI and that is FAR from the facts. OLD SARGE had them made and the m-2 was applied to ID them and make them "appear' to be correct. few will work, and if they do wont work long. I take them apart, throw the body in the scrap pile and adapt the parts to USGI 15 round mags. there are USGI 30's but almost always more than $100 and hard to positively ID unless book in hand. the EUROPEANS made the best 30 round mags prior to 1970 and I kept several cases and that's what I use. the new KOREAN mags are the best buy now BUT don't expect much spring life , buy extra's and NEVER leave them loaded. LAST? final LEGAL info . NEVER, buy more than 1 or 2,  M-2 carbine part B-4 you have an APPROVED TRANSFER IN HAND! they are a favored "STING" device and a kit need not be complete to be a violation. 90% of the parts is a violation if certain parts are present and I can NEVER get a straight answer  from ATF since 1971 that is the same next time I ask, so its best to avoid the issue, until you are approved, then you can have it all.  if you have either a registered receiver OR a registered trigger group/parts kit. YOU CAN OWN ALL THE SPARES YOU WANT! as replacement spare parts. they MUST be included with the sale of any registered item! if you attempt to sell them after wards, you just sold an unregistered machine gun. the main collection I am managing right now has a registered trigger group, the owner bought one wanting to use it in several "hosts"  it was purchased from a known current and well respected TEXAS NFA DEALER that offered him the "host" for $500 more, and he bought it also. the DEALER filled out a 4473 and let him leave with the "HOST" in hand while waiting for the approval . while doing inventory , i found it in a standard products M-1 with the A-1 folding stock and moved on. many weeks later while logging all the carbines, I picked up a INLAND marked M-2! that was semi only. I found out IT WAS THE "HOST" that came with the group and almost passed out . several million dollar's was placed at risk, simply because the DEALER ignored information PLAINLY posted as a ruling concerning carbine's on the ATF webb site! that dealer was present at an organized Mg shoot and when asked about the 2 over stamped on the 1, he proudly replied, "I DID THAT MYSELF in order to make the package appear more realistic and correct"  the price was the same so no harm done. my point is, few people are aware and you cant always believe what you hear. ALL OF THE ABOVE IS CORRECT and easily documented ! I hope it helped. it was certainly more than you asked for,  ignore what you don't need but believe it ALL. cheers mike

  8. THUMPY, I hated to come down so hard but the entire thread pissed me off and I had to respond. its not a matter of "levels" when it comes to KNOWLEDGE . from a lot of my posts it might look like I am trying to make it that way, but I can assure you THATS NOT THE CASE.  I am simply trying to share what I KNOW!  its ALL BEEN HANDS ON and if you want to talk about LOW level, 2 months after I got married, my wife had my truck full time and I walked or hitch hiked to work both ways until I bought a 49 Buick fast back for $60 dollars at the swap meet. I never lost sight of my hunger while driving that car, I also bought a M1 Bridgeport on layaway for $410.00, a lot but it was MINT. I could have bought one for about $250 it had heat marks from a weak de mil and a commercial barrel from the same shop and passed. at work I earned just over minimum wage, that's ALL the wife got. any extra I earned doing repairs or in the basement went to the collection. after 5 years of marriage and living in a rental, I sold half the collection and built my own home with no mortgage. that was the last time the collection suffered, and all the while I kept learning. all the while paying close attention to the entire industry, trends, new imports, people and designs you name it. hell you might win  the lotto next week and then all the SHARKS would be at your backside with a greedy smile and feeding because , you just didn't know? who wants the biggest collection of the worst? I have said all that b-4 the part that REALLY UPSET ME is using wrong info to feed an ILL WIND .  one spouting bad info sooner or later is joined and then those 2 by another on and on it grows. I can help with that if you like,  we all rightfully fear NOV 2020. lots of members here say they wont get MINE!  well I have those same fears and often have night mares . imagine a 28 year old black gent , registered democrat  in the AIR FORCE recently promoted to CAPTAIN returning from a training mission in a fully armed WARTHOG ordered to inter dict a lone 2009 FORD super duty moving south on I-10 because someone reported there was an AUG in the back seat. did you pay close attention to what those HOGS did to those IRAQI TANKS? imagine what it did to my TRUCK !   well they sure has hell got mine and they will get all the others also when they want them.

  9. GIMMEE A DAMNED BREAK!  DOWN? you guys have any idea how many record level prices were reached during MORPHYS 10/23 auction?  A NON C+ R MODERN VICKERS  SIDEPLATE GUN SOLD FOR $34K ! WHY? BECAUSE IT WAS DONE RIGHT, HAD NO EXCUSES, GREAT CURB APPEAL AND 5 PEOPLE WANTED IT! IMAGINE ANY MP-40 FOR MORE THAN $105k? 7 people wanted it INCLUDING ME.  sure nothings selling on the net.  if its not a SAMPLE 95% of the guns offered on this site are PURE JUNK! when compared to an honest original piece.  ''RARE VARIATION THOMPSON" BEAD BLASTED WITH BOULDERS AFTER MARKINGS WERE HIT WITH A PUNCH? the only honest guns are AC-.556 rugers and a few macs. or guns that only accept plastic mags waiting to fail.  DONT GET ME WRONG  "SHOOTER'S" are OK there is no way someone is going to move a SHOOTER AT COLLECTOR QUALITY LEVELS AND THATS WHAT WE ALL LOOK AT HERE! day in day out with a BUMP to the top, maybe a little word change and it starts all over! PLEASE DONT CONTRIBUTE TO THE RUMOR MILL AND SPOUT FOUNDLESS OPINIONS NOT BASED ON FACT ! I HAVE DOCUMENTED PROOF IN MY FILE CABINET overall sales are up in value MORE than 15%. I HAVE LEARNED TO EXPECT A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF FOUNDLESS DRIBBLE FROM SOME, BUT THUMPY, YOU DISAPPOINT ME FOR THE FIRST TIME.!

  10. THUMPY, eyes open, prepare and research so you KNOW a deal when you see it. if a steal, turn around and its GONE. not too long ago, any DECENT show within 3 hours drive, I was first to arrive and last to leave, EVERY TIME! I never missed setup day and that meant buying at least one table to placate security. of course I was seeking rare treasures also which made it all work. my skills were are firmly in place long before GORE invented the internet and most folks use it to advantage as you should . I guess I'm just too old and tired to hit it like some and I detest how it has affected camaraderie. for direct distributor buys  https://www.targetsportsusa.com/t-ammoprime.aspx was well under every source I checked for our 5 main high use calibers. they pay the shipping and seem constant. if you can stand a few oddities mixed in  there are many smaller auctions going with lots of ammo available and some good buys can be made. last week I scored close to 1000. first rate commercial 37mm flares and "crackers for less than $1.50 each. retail on the lowest valued was more than $9 bucks a pop in quantity. I did my research and had ALL that info a week b-4 I bid and again prep made it work. if you don't high volume reload, down the road I suggest  a DILLON SQUARE DEAL in all your pistol cals at least ONLY IF YOU CAN FOCUS AND PAY ATTENTION to what is going on. that first barrel bulge I going to hurt your feelings BIG TIME.

  11. since the first SACO guns hit the civilian market, few in the trade paid any attention to them unless it was a PERFECT example to sit unused in a collection. always doubt about what parts fit and I have seen variations so who knows. the gun at MORPHYS did sell. and the actual price NET the buyer paid is the posted figure. like all gun auctions, many of the examples offered had faults one can only see IN HAND! I bought several pieces and each one was examined by someone capable before I did. they attract a large gallery of folks on the floor that looked also. the only low priced 16 variant I know of was that 639 with original moderator. just under $28. I have seen them go in much worse condition for an easy $35k and rumored much more so go figure. many great buys hammered, but remember they can always bid again so you NEVER know what an additional bid would have done. when trying to figure why a price was realized, you can NEVER know what the motivation was. my north wall has several variations and is as exciting to view as a corn field but, OK, IM THE BIG DUMMY THAT PAID more than $23k FOR AN UZI !  forget that it was FACTORY MADE BY FABRIQUE NATIONAL IN BELGIUM, forget there MIGHT be only one or 2 others if any, FORGET that its also marked SIONICS and had an original EARLY WERBELL SIONICS CAN. BUT CONSIDER , I HAD THAT VERY GUN IN MY HAND, standing next to GORDAN INGRAHM at the POWDER SPRINGS RANGE, just before they cheated him out of his design and ran him off dooming the company. I will relive those moments and the privilege countless times IF I MANAGE TO GET THE GOL-DANGED TRANSFER APPROVED B-4 I'M GONE.  priceless in my book !  when MILITARY ARMAMENT was trying show more credibility  for the company, they cataloged several one off examples in order to have an impressive line and at the same time promote suppressors. this auction had it along with several examples of those arms and several hammered for less then like models offered today.  I play at all 3 of the MAJOR firearm auction houses HARD and today NOBODY gives me the confidence or service as well as MORPHY's has. the HEAD NFA GUY, knows his stuff and the right people to ask for help. yup the extra 5% hit a bit, but after my third event, its cheap for what you get .

  12. THUMPY , GOOD ANSWER ABOVE , HOWEVER MOST of the REAL QUALITY NO EXCUSE NFA WEAPONS, have a long want to buy list or anxious heir in the back ground. its true very few issued TOMMYS  in TODAYS market will match and there is a ton of "BRING BACKS" in the system no matter how they got there. BUT ! in the late 50's early 60's maybe a little later, almost all the guns I handled were matching. i'm not talking about a few guns on a table at some show, I m talking about crates full in fact my very first paid job for SAM was remove the cos from 200 28-A1's, test fire 1 mag/ clean light oil and off to Egypt. all in the system, all like new "rebuilds" that simply moved somehow  to be checked out some point in time between 1943 or so until I got em when nine years old in 59. cant say how they ended up loose , but a lot of our goods came from the UK or the like. almost all weapons in EUROPE went to plants like FN for rebuild and if they looked good I'm sure time was money even then and they never came apart, except for cosmo and packing.  in my opinion an other wise mint matching WWII era THOMPSON of ANY breed, is worth at least 15/20% MORE than the same thing NOT matching. SHOOTER? almost the same value either way. IN ANY CASE, WHEN IT COMES TO VALUE, I find the best asset to be the CURB APPEAL, IE; what you see when you pick it up. POOR quality stamping from some agency / punched out letters/ numbers just don't work for me, no matter why they exist.  in the past some of my collectors rejected choice examples at ANY PRICE . when your talking MOST GERMAN stuff either war it gets crazy and each example evaluated on its own

  13. just yesterday I looked at a nib group gun at $22,500 asking. seemed fair at the time. I believe it was at DAVE SPIWAKS home page. you might check it out if that would work. I know where another like new example is and he is asking $25k if nothing pans out.both could e-file so no adder. good luck either way! mike

  14. I HAVE SEVERAL STYER AUG A-3 rifles both new in the box and used  available and can also supply extra's as needed.  I NEED A USR- AUG! other than the optics and bore, condition not important because it is doomed to a project and will never be the same.  have cash to pay any difference and I am willing to take a beating on this deal so TAKE ME IM YOURS. I don't have anything against the new guns, just too many so this is a good chance to get one as it was intended to be used I can offer many optic options or just as they were shipped again your choice and you wont believe the deal I would accept. cheers mike

  15. this should make a fantastic shooter! builds using the M1 A1 bolt were done often to avoid the difficult cuts for the "blish lock" . if I managed to get involved before they were done, I would suggest using the standard 28 bolt, cut the outboard ears off the lock and secure it to the bolt like the BRITS did for desert work in WW II. that should be a workable option in this case with no changes to the receiver. the gun would appear correct outside using the standard actuator rather that that allen bolt. SOMEONE is going to have a perfect shooter at a great price. I LOVE IT!

  16. I noticed there was no mention of FEE'S paid to "WIN" this magical case. the fact that he WAS CONVICTED AND subject to detention AND that was dropped tells a huge story. I know of several cases mainly since 68-GCA went into law that were dropped with much more potent charges. the govt's main goal is to get the charges on record then the games begin and they go BOTH WAYS. in this thread it was said he was arrested after doing build parties. maybe the govts case was strong enough for a conviction but weak in stature?  when the ARMALITE 18 AND 180 FIRST WAS PRODUCED, BECAUSE THE UPPER HELD THE SEAR IT WAS THE RECEIVER AND THE LOWER NOT MARKED, THEN THEY CHANGED BECAUSE THE LOWER HELD THE HAMMER AND MORE FIRE CONTROL PARTS AND THERE IT REMAINED. BY GATHERING SEVERAL EXAMPLES AND SWITCHING PARTS , "SOMEONE" CREATED  2 180'S WITH NO SERIAL NUMBER AT ALL AND THEY MUST BE FLOATING AROUND SOMEWHERE TO THIS DAY?  UNTIL A JUDGE WRITES A JUDGEMENT THAT WILL BE A RULE OF LAW, I WILL CONSIDER THE ATF THE ONLY EXPERTS ON WHAT IS AND WHAT ISNT FOR ME AND MY TOYS. ALL THESE MIRACLE CASES NEED TO BE FILED RIGHT WITH ALL THE SO CALLED CONSPIRICY CASES SO THE TWEAKERS KIND FIND THEM AND GROVEL TOGETHER IN JOY.   THUMPY YOU BEST JUST IGNORE THAT POST!

  17. NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THE DAY BUT THERE IS AN EXCELLENT ONE OFFERED ON STURM FOR $2450. plus actual the lowest auction unit I won this year hammered at $2150 + 15% prem ( $2472.50 net)  so that must be the number?   blame it on all the impulse credit card buys during that BURR HEADS last term. a lot of stuff got bought at any price and then had to be dumped.

  18. I WAS ALWAYS A NO CAN KINDA GUY EXCEPT FOR MY INGRAMS OF COURSE.  not only do they save the fingers, they just look like they belong. then one day I went rat shooting and the land owner demanded cans so I brought my dealer along and he loaned me a YHM titanium can for my 16 and I WAS DONE! an entire day without muffs on the HUGE CANCER INFESTED FLAPPERS was all it took. I must add that my hearing was totally wiped out 30 years ago and at home I quit using anything but most ranges require hearing protection so I had a pair of big plugs custom made THEN CHOPPED THEM UP to stop the pain they caused. I now have a can for most everything hand or shoulder held.  for those not in the know that .556- YHM TIT CAN can be bought for less than $400 today because they dumped a bunch to dealers when the changed models there are even some 30 cal tits out there for the same price but harder to find. they are fantastic! mine have been beat to hell and never let me down. the main one is on a select fire COMMANDO that loves mag dumps.

  19. YES DAN is correct!  all the MGM GUNS are marked MGM , the VICKERS on the trunnion. I was present at the original auction in vegas I looked all the guns over very well and even bought a few.it brought back many memories to find this barrel and it needs to get back with the gun!  wish I still had that REISING mod 50 that they made into a MP-40 for a movie filmed b-4 any made it to Aberdeen following the AFRICA DEBACLE, what a piece of history!. DOLPHS GUN was used in several movies, but most not historically correct for the timeline which was normal in those days. However it was so unique it was featured in a SEAGRAMS 7 bourbon add in either SAT eve POST or LOOK.

  20. THUMPY, I LEARNED LONG AGO (sigh , too long)  In any transaction, NOT JUST NFA! AT THE FIRST SIGN OF A "BACK PEDDLE" , drop it like it stung ya and DONT LOOK BACK!  the sharks depend on us to be anxious they know what it does to us. when you first appeared, I looked forward to your next inquiry, they all made sense and it looked like you had a firm commitment. you have come a long way since you first hit the  threads and soon it will be YOU helping others break the bonds of boredom. just avoid the flash and glitter, try to stay humble and positive. remember the trepidation about transfer time when you sent those forms in for the REISING?  I see it ended up less than 90 days. hooray for you!   CHEERS
