Dean L,
They are not posted yet, and we are still finalizing them. It will be a while before we change over to a pay to post format.

Nice job on the new look. Looking forward to discovering all the new features.
We appreciate it, Chuck. Welcome to the new Sturmgewehr.com board!
David
Buddy is on the board.
To post a new topic on the board, do the following:
1. Go to the board on which you would like to post. (Ads go on in the various 4 boards listed under the "Buy and Sell Marketplace," and discussion topics go in the 2 boards listed under the "Firearms Discussion" section.
2. Once you are on the appropriate board, click on the "Start New Topic" button: (It is toward the top right hand side of your screen)
3. A page will load that looks like this:
4. Type in a title, as shown above. If you are posting a market ad, it is helpful to post as much information about the item as may be immediately helpful to anyone seeing it. Though not required, listing a price in the title is helpful.
5. This step is completely optional, but if you want to use the "Tags" feature, you can type terms into that field, separated by commas. If 2 or more posts are tagged with the same term, they will appear as links at the bottom of your post. This will happen more often as additional content is posted to the new board.
6. Post the text of your ad, or your discussion topic within the large area shown below. Remember, if you are posting an ad, you are trying to sell something, like in a newspaper ad...Provide as much information as you can about the item that will fully inform potential buyers. It is recommended that you post a price, full description, your city, state, and name, e-mail address, and any sales tax and shipping details. You are not required to post all these items, but they are recommended.
7. You can post photos several ways:
(I will complete this tutorial ASAP...I've worked on it on 1/9/16 and 1/10/16)

Don,
Yes, you can PayPal me at dalbert@sturmgewehr.com.
Total is $17.74, unless you are in Ohio, in which case you would need to add sales tax.
Thanks!
David Albert
When a topic is opened, there is a sidebar on the left hand side of everyone's posts along the topic, including your own, if you have participated in the conversation.
The Sidebar displays the following:
Reputation & Likes:
In the lower right hand corner of every window that is created whenever anyone posts, or replies to a post, is a "Like" button. Everyone is probably familiar with this feature from social media. Here on Sturmgewehr.com, it is a way to give reputation points, which will add to the member's reputation point total shown on their sidebar. Feel free to "Like" any post, whether it's because you like the item posted for sale, or you are in the discussion forums, and someone makes a very informative post, or a cogent argument or reply.
Enjoy!

As we become more familiar with the version of the IPBoard software that Sturmgewehr.com runs on, we will post helpful hints and other pointers here in this thread. If you have noticed anything that you think should be added, please feel free to reply to this thread. The goal is to make everything as easy as possible for everyone.
Helpful Hints:
More will be added here as we progress with the new site...

If you are a member level that is above "Seaman," you have the ability to update your profile with a circular photo icon that will appear whenever you post. You can also feature a wide, thin, landscape background photo that will be visible to anyone who clicks on your name, which will take them to your board profile. Here is my profile as an example:
http://www.sturmgewehr.com/forums/index.php?/profile/5-david-albert/
To do so, go to where you see your board name in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
This will take you to your profile page. Here, you can upload 2 different photos. One will be your small icon photo, and the other will be your background landscape for profile views.
To update your profile icon:
Keep in mind that the photo will be cropped into a circle, so anything in the squared edges of a photo will not show up.
To update your background photo:
If you have any questions about what is described here, feel free to post your questions as responses to this thread. Enjoy!

As one of The Carbine Club members tasked with promoting and sustaining the new format, I'm posting this in the new Sturmgewehr.com forums to cross promote with those members who may be interested in the M1 Carbine, or perhaps were members of The Carbine Club in the past.
In case you didn't know, The Carbine Club was started in 1976, and published almost 400 newsletters to its membership, up until the final printed newsletter was distributed in October 2015. As of 2016, the official, paid membership has been suspended, and the club will continue to exist online, with regular updates in an article format that looks the same as the former newsletters.
As of January 1, 2016, the new Carbine Club forums are open. As of this writing, there are 89 registered members, so you still have the opportunity to be one of the first hundred members. I expect the membership number to increase rapidly as word gets around. Here is the link:
http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/forums.html
We here at Sturmgewehr.com also run a forum on Machinegunboards.com that focuses on the M2 Carbine. You are also welcome to post there, and the forum is especially helpful to those who own NFA Carbines. Here is the link to that forum:
http://www.machinegunboards.com/forums/index.php?showforum=17
If you have any questions about the new Carbine Club, feel free to ask here, and/or go the their new website and register.
Thanks!

I have some extra Sten SMG accessories that I'm offering for sale here.
Norwegian Sten Loading Tool: All Norwegian Sten loaders are now sold!
I have 3 of these available, and all are new old stock Norwegian Sten loading tools. There are no markings on them. These fit snugly on the back of a Sten magazine, and are held in place by your hand. Your thumb operates a plunger that pushes the follower or cartridge down far enough that another cartridge may be inserted under the magazine lips, and then it can be seated in the magazine after the plunger is released.
$15 each, plus $2.74 first class postage
Sten Slings: All Sten slings are now sold!
I have 3 Sten slings, with 2 different manufacturer markings available. I have 2 that are marked "ROVER 45," and one that is marked "M.E. Co.. 43." The ROVER examples appear to be unissued, while the M.E. Co. sling shows some use and light soiling. The ROVER slings have some light rust on the twisted loop end, and one has a couple of small rust stains on the sling itself.
$17 each, plus $2.74 first class postage.
Ohio sales must add local sales tax. I accept PayPal, checks, and money orders.
Thanks!

For the first 16 1/2 years after launching Sturmgewehr.com in June, 1999, the website looked almost exactly the same. Except for the 3 different website icons, and some minor background software updates that were available while the legacy software remained supported, the site appeared the same as it did on the first day it was launched. We kept the old format much longer than expected.
Sturmgewehr.com was founded to carry on the tradition of the FJ Vollmer site - to provide a place for folks to buy/sell/talk about guns in a lively but friendly atmosphere. The internet has changed a bit since those days, so everybody has had to become a little more hardened and cautious, but we remember our roots. We want to return to them as much as we can, leveraging powerful new capability that a board software like this one can provide. Sturm launched immediately upon the closure of the Vollmer site, and it remains extremely well known in the firearm community, and ubiquitous to the NFA community.
We hope you will like and explore the new capabilities. Many of you may already be familiar with this type of format, particularly if you are a member of our sister board, Machinegunboards.com. MGBoard members will be able to log in to Sturm using their existing credentials.
There's more to come in the transition, but the immediate change you will notice is that it's easier to post with pictures, and that you must use a member login to post. If you stopped frequenting Sturmgewehr.com in the past, we hope you will take a fresh look. It looks a little different, but we are confident that in short time, it will become a welcomed change.
New and easier rules have been posted. We now have one advertising banner that will be available for up to 5 Admiral level supporters. This is necessary to help support the site.
As the new board progresses, we will post updates, and tutorials that will help everyone become more familiar with the additional features.
Welcome to the New Sturmgewehr.com Forums!
