Fully-Transferable ‘1921A’ Sing Sing Prison used Thompson sub machine gun .As one of the first 15,000 Thompsons produced, it was manufactured by Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Company in Hartford, Connecticut under contract with Auto-Ordnance circa 1921-1922. This example remains in its original 1921 configuration despite most 1921s being retrofitted to the 1928 configuration due to the Thompsons initial mediocre sales. The original Colt internals consist of a blued actuator, bright finished bolt, bronze Blish lock, and two-piece buffer & buffer pilot with large diameter recoil spring. Features a blued finish, 10.5" barrel with cooling fins, full-banded fixed blade front sight, adjustable Lyman ladder rear sight graduated to 600 yards, smooth trigger, manual safety & fire selectors on the lower receiver/trigger housing, serrated actuator/cocking knob, vertical foregrip with finger grooves, pistol grip with lower finger grooves and detachable shoulder stock with trapdoor metal buttplate. The receiver and lower receiver/trigger housing have matching serial numbers. The receiver is stamped with all standard markings including a JHB inspection mark near the ejection port. Machine gun exhibits an old refinish with approximately 90% blueing intact (albeit plum) with some high point edge wear, superficial scratches, slide wear on the top of the receiver from the reciprocating cocking knob, and a very small amount old scattered pin prick observed under the finish on the receiver & trigger housing. Action is mechanically sound, the bore is bright with very good rifling & minor erosion and the walnut stocks are good with some hairline cracks extending from the mounting metal. Condition is Very Good as refinished.8 magazines Included
