David Albert
Bottom line, it is not a good idea to post your e-mail address in a reply to an ad. Here are some reasons: It signals your intent to a potential scammer - They know exactly what you want, and where to send you their request for payment They may appear to have a similar address to the person who posted the ad...Just think about how easy it is to get a free, customized e-mail address - This can be done anywhere in the world It's poor etiquette...You should be reaching out to the seller, not asking them to contact you You should contact the seller using the PM feature, or through their e-mail address directly, without posting your e-mail in a reply to their original ad for all to see A buyer should always speak to the seller. Vet them out. Be appropriately cautious before you send out hundreds, or thousands of dollars. Never wire money...Never, ever. Do not send funds via Moneygram. Once you speak to the person, and are comfortable that they do not appear to be a scammer, check their address and contact information. Check their FFL address against the ATF database. Check their address on Google Street View, and see if it appears valid. Visit them, and see the gun in person, especially if it's very expensive. If the deal is too good, or anything doesn't feel right, walk away. Don't get greedy. If the deal is too good, there's a problem. Polishmike
Also - I posted a list of firearms for sale and it looks like someone created a fake email (similar but not the same to mine) and emailed everyone that responded to the ads willing to take less money and sending wire instructions. FHJ
Hey All, Just did a transaction that somehow someone pulled my info off of a PM and scammed me out of $490.00. Through no fault of the vendor here I posted a PM to Side Arm Sams after posting in the thread that I'll take one of the items that he was selling. I received a text (my fault for assuming it was the vendor) and completed the transaction. After a while, my senses told me to give the vendor a call and he confirmed that it wasn't him and that I was scammed and the vendor asked me to post the scammers info here so that others won't be taken. Scammers info is as follows: Given Name - Michael Edward Email - softlifehere154@outlook.com (note: I should have picked up on this right away but was distracted with work, my fault) Telephone number - 1(859) 440-8338 Please be vigilant, I am feeling pretty stupid at the moment. Best, FJ PS. Thank you to vendor "Side Arm Sams" for helping me verify. My fault entirely.
Buddy H
NEW SCAMMER WARNING … MIMICKING REAL USER NAMES . Scammers have started mimicking real sellers board names in order to look like the message came from the Real seller …. They might add or remove a letter or two or add dash or a period … so LOOK REALLY CLOSE AT THE REAL SELLERS USER NAME …. LOOK REALLY CLOSE ! Sadly it may be Best NOT TO POST A REPLY to ANY AD ….. doing so triggers a scammer to create a FAKE USER NAME in order to contact you and scam you into sending money ! ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK WHO YOU ARE COMMUNICATING WITH …. BEFORE SENDING MONEY !
911TTgt350
I have been asking for a picture with a odd item with the gun no matter how good the feedback and have yet to get burned. Said item with a spoon and 3 rubber bands etc. I was LEO and the scammers have become pretty good. My parents almost bought a car from a car dealer doing the same thing mimicking a actual dealer. Be careful

Buddy H
ALWAYS CHECK a PM to see if it is from the REAL Seller … click on or search the senders user name … IF there are NO POSTS … he is a Scammer !!! The real sellers will show all his posts …. Proving he is legit .
