RTG Parts Posted May 28 Report Share Posted May 28 BROWNING A5 12GA 24" ADJ CHOKE 1952 FN, USED, $479.00 BROWNING A5 LIGHT 12GA 24" ADJ CHOKE 1952 FN, USED This Browning A5, serial number 380897, was produced in 1952, first year that FN took over production. 24" barrel with an adjustable Poly-Choke installed. Barrel Markings include ( BROWNING ARMS COMPANY St. LOUIS MO / -SPECIAL STEEL - 12ga - SHELLS 2 3/4 ). Bore looks very-good on the inside. Outside of the barrel has some blueing wear, some patina and a fair bit of freckling. Poly-Choke works properly. Receiver has most of the blueing worn off with a fair bit of patina and freckling. Left side of the receiver is marked BROWNING with a picture of JMB. Right side has proof marks and the under side has serial number 380897. Wood is solid and very usable. Stock has a crack where it meets the receiver under the upper tang. Buttplate is a replacement made by Wesco Western and is nicely fitted. LOP is 14.25" Handguard has a very small crack on the left side where it meets the receiver. This shotgun appears to be mechanically sound with everything working the way it should.
