UZI Silencer name recommendations with a prize

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: winner has already been announced.

I'm going to make some full-size UZI cans and wanted to get the community's opinion on a good model name.  I want to honor the gun's history but can't reference anything trademarked.  Anyone have a good recommendation?  Winner gets a $200 NavGunner.com gift card!

*first public post that's chosen wins.  If I pick something that wasn't recommended then I'll pick a name at random for the gift card.  I'm making a decision no later than May 1st (next Friday)  at 17:00 HRS CST

Cross posted on UT for twice the fun (unfortunately there's just one prize).

I don't think "Golani" is trade marked but you should check.  Naming it after the Golani Brigade seems spot on.  I bought a scope from a guy in Israel a year or two back and he sent me a Golani Brigade marked sling for my mini-uzi.  Love it.

Black Arrow. Or Hetz Shahor (Hebrew for Black Arrow.) The first deployment of the Uzi by the Israeli military. 1955 raid on Egyptian base in Gaza that was serving as a base of operations for arab attacks on Israeli citizens.

Za’am Elohim.Hebrew for “Wrath of God”; as in Operation Wrath of God…the hunt for the 1972 Munich terrorists.

Thunderbolt. In honor of Operation Thunderbolt when Israeli commandos assaulted Entebbe to free Israeli and Jewish hostages.

Dora. In honor of Dora Bloch, an Entebbe hostage and Israeli citizen murdered by Uganda in retaliation for the Entebbe raid.

Fauda. An arab word. It means “chaos.” A bunch of SS 147 gr. would certainly create chaos among the bad guys.

Bibi. In honor of Netanyahu. Also a play on words/homonym…”quiet like a BB gun.”

Dayan. In honor of Moshe Dayan, the one eyed Israeli general. “Careful with that Uzi, kid…you’ll shoot your eye out!”

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to participate—honestly, I’ve been blown away by the creativity and turnout on both boards.

Because of that response, I went ahead and made my selection! Drum roll please……….

The new model name will be “Kadesh”, recommended by UT member TSPC Additionally, for the serial number prefix, I’ll be using “SHTOK”, recommended by UT member deadduck —so I’m doubling down, and you get the prize as well. Each of you will receive a $200 credit toward my website.

Honorable mention goes to Sturm member @The Dude —yours was extremely close, and well deserving of recognition. You’ll receive a $100 credit to the website.

Thanks again to everyone who contributed—this was a lot of fun, and I appreciate the support.

This will be tempting depending on price.

I like the Bowers offering but the mount alone is pretty pricey. And I just ordered a FBI barrel and exigent rico309 can this morning

Price is still to be determined but the target is $799 for the steel bodied version and probably another $100 for the aluminum.

I already have one that’s available but it’s a part of a SBR / silencer combo that I just listed for sale.

The below statement is my personal opinion and is not a reflection on Bowers as a company.  My understanding is that he’s a wonderful human and provides great warranty service, which is critical because if you need help after the sale, he’s there to help.

The Bowers is not a dedicated can and uses their $150 adapter to convert a Bowers suppressor to work with the UZI (you mentioned this in your post but adding my two cents for others reading)  I don’t like this kind of set up because when using an adapter, sometimes I struggle with the adapter coming off the tube when I’m trying to remove the silencer from the host firearm… which is super frustrating.  With my investment into transferable MGs, I feel like a dedicated can is preferable, and not an adapter conversion.  Also, the adapters add too much length and I’m trying to reduce that with my offering.  Even the shortest version of the Bowers is over 10 inches long (with the adapter) and even longer on the full-size version.  I do like how it’s a low blowback design, which is very important to me.

I’ve owned a GSL Jericho for years so that’s my baseline for comparison as it relates to a dedicated UZI can.  The KADESH performance is on par with the GSL Jericho but admittedly my steel version is heavier at 20 oz. I need to fix that with an aluminum offering but I’m sure that some people will still prefer the Steel.  The KADESH is low blowback and this is where the Jericho struggles. Also, personal preference, but the Jericho is too skinny and too long for my liking.  The KADESH has a 1.5” OD and is just under 8 inches long (total length with no adapters needed).  The KADESH has a removable endcap and is user serviceable.  The KADESH is designed to work with a standard 10.2 inch barrel (nothing special required)

My goal is to have these available for sale in the upcoming weeks. The sale price is $799 for the steel version and an additional $100 for aluminum.  Once available, the official listing will be in the NFA section of STURM.

For anyone interested in purchasing, please shoot me a PM to let me know which version you prefer so I can make sure that I make enough cans.

Thank you!!
