My dream gun is a Anzio but idk if I’ll ever have enough for one . So I’ll put a ad for any cannon ( mounted or rifle ) in 20mm Vulcan . I do not own any other destructive device but have experience shooting it from gun ranges and many other  toys  and other calibers .  Drop some info or offers I’m looking for under 8k but putting money aside so feel free to mention any thing you’d like to get rid of or in 20mm Vulcan to be exact . Thnx

Anzio has the most affordable 20mm on the market at around $15K. I don't know if I'd put my trust in one for half that price. I remember a guy brought something on a mount to one of our machine gun shoots. I'll try to find the video. No idea who built it. Everyone around it was nervous.

Found the video. The "cannon" is fired at the 2:40 mark. Prior to that it's a bunch of commentary from people thinking they're about to be vaporized.

Looks like one of the actions that Mike Riker built and sold for people to make Vulcan cannons out of surplus barrels.

If I remember right. The action alone was more than $8k.

You may be able to build one for less than $8k with a good amount of research and access to a machine shop. There is a gentleman who made one for a good bit less than 8k. But he machined the receiver himelself out of a chunk of 4140 ordnance steel he got off ebay. And then sent out for heat treat after machining. It was electrically fired.

MPFiveOtrue on that but I remember they use to sell ( I don’t think they sell no more only magazine Anzio version ) the single shot breakdown version for 6-7k . Which I did find even a weird looking one meant to be fired of a chassis or custom mount . He still has it for sale for 4k ish but won’t sell unless I got one already registered to me  etc ( he says he doesn’t want anyone getting hurt by it or inexperienced ) I have experience but I do get where he’s coming from . I like the design to use even the spare 20mm barrels from the actual Vulcan gun . http://www.fullautoclassics.com/ you can find it there . I spot a single shot one today right now but website depends on the cloudflare which everyone is having issue with so won’t load on my phone . ( idk how to use this site yet to post photo ) just like that video you showed me that’s what I saw people do with surplus barrels with either a screw on cap design or breech or even bolt action . But that’s why I’m not being picky I can keep saving up just it’s a chance to get one sooner Im cool with . Currently 25 years old but I doubt many dd guns or smthing like the Anzio will show up listed later on without bumped up numbers ( saw one on gun broker for 40k )

I get where he's coming from too. All firearms can be dangerous. Firearms shooting really big cartridges can be really dangerous. A 5.56 round might contain around 26 grains of powder. A 7.62 might contain around 48 grains of powder. A .50 BMG might contain around 230 grains of powder. A 20mm Vulcan can contain up to 600 grains of powder. A mistake can be catastrophic. Comparing bullet weights you have 5.56 at 55-62 grains. 7.62 is 147-180 grains. .50 BMG averages 600-700 grains. A 20mm AP is around 1900 grains.

The 20mm rounds require special presses and dies and getting powder and components these days can be tricky due to ever changing demil regulations.

Then there's the issue of transporting and finding a place to shoot it. My range is in a valley surrounded by mountains extending into the National Forrest. But it's only 100 yards long. The CMP won't even let me shoot my .50 on their range so a 20mm is definitely out. Like the .50 BMG, the range of the 20mm round is extreme compared to a run of the mill hunting rifle. Getting it there is going to require a bigger vehicle than a Prius. I can throw half a dozen Subguns in the back of my two door Jeep and take a buddy to the range with me. The Anzio breaks down into two of the largest Pelican cases made. Definitely going to need a long bed pickup.

And again, this isn't really something to do on a budget. Cutting corners with a large capacity cartridge doesn't seem worth the risk. For the $8K I would consider investing in something with an equal fun factor but more suitable for transport and less liability.

I'm not going to say you don't have experience, but how much experience can you have if you don't already own one? I've been driving since 1985. I've been to numerous training sessions on pursuit driving in my 26 year career in law enforcement. I know how to drive. But, I also don't know a damn thing about driving a funny car or top fuel dragster. I know they can have thousands of horsepower and do 300 mph in the blink of an eye. And I know I have no business getting into the cockpit even though I know how to drive. Just something to think about before you drive into the shallow end of the pool.

So for experience I have shot multiple 20mm calibers and even a 30mm or grenade launcher as well . But to be exact . All been range rental or good owners when they let me shot them . I have shot a lahti only one round in original 20mm and some more but in a 50 cal converted one . Now I have fired a oerlikon 20mm in burstish or full auto . That one I really enjoyed and felt that heat n kick on my entire upper body ! . Around maybe 30ish rounds  total I still got a live round that took home I had some spare change so payed for some shells to take home . And for 20mm Vulcan around 17 rounds or so in a full auto gun range rental that is around a 1:30 hour thirty min drive to it . For reloading I saw steps basically the same as normal reloading but I saw it’s hard getting flash tubes with primer unless you got alot of money to buy bulk . And the 30mm was a dude custom idk bored 30x113 single shot cannon .  For me personally if I had to choose where to shoot dds if I owned them  couple ranges I could take ( maybe 1-2 ) or property I own far out in Texas basically no where out of city’s for miles .  But yes sir I’d say that’s only some minor experience forexpensive  big boy toys . I have thought of creating one but that would take time and testing and permission for the process . I have a 20mm Vulcan barrel but building is last option . Nice hobby man that’s crazy I’ve only seen moments in videos  but I know that rush must be feeling good hitting that speed in couple seconds

I currently have 2 anzio 20mm. I just sold one for a large number on gb. These guns haven't been made in about 5yrs and there are no plans to make anymore. What's out there ( 119) is it.. I bought my first one brand new from Mike, because I knew they would only go up in value. I also stocked up on ammunition and currently have 893 RDS accumulated. I have ball, saphe,  and a.p. ammunition is extremely hard to get also.

My suggestion is if you really do want one, to not wait and buy the gun when it comes for sale even if it seems high to you.

I remember years ago when I got into transferables, I paid 1100 for a M16, 800 for a ac556 and 600 for new in the box Mac 10s and Mac 11s. When I bought my first mp5 at 5k, I thought I was insane and so did everyone else. Now look at what these bring. My point is this, guns rarely go down, especially strange or limited number guns. In 10yrs the price today for an anzio will seem cheap.

Mike has a little over a dozen parts sets to build finished guns. My buddy just got one, serial between 130 and 140. So, there are a few left to be made. If I wanted one right now I'd get a loan from the bank, or whatever it took, and call Mike and get put on the list, because when he's done with these there will be no more.
