curious to know your favorite pistol and why?

Oh wow, I have so many handguns I don't even know if I have a favorite. My EDC is a Glock 19C Gen 3. I've taken it to numerous schools and shot a bunch of rounds through it. It's completely factory but more accurate than most custom 1911's. If I could only have one pistol it would be that one.

I'm really fond of the Remington Rand 1911A1 my grandfather brought back from his service in the Pacific. My other grandfather left me a S&W Model 36 Chief's Special. I have many fond memories of shooting these guns with my grandfathers. My father left me a Mauser HsC .32 ACP pistol. It's got German stamps all over it. I have no idea where he got it, probably a poker game.

One gun I take to the range almost every time I go is my S&W Model 17-6 in .22 long rifle. It's extremely accurate and just plain fun to shoot.

I really enjoy taking my Cold War Wondernines to the range. That little collection consists of 80's era 9mm's to include a Beretta 92F, West German Sig P226, first year production Ruger P85 and a CZ 75 made in Czechoslovakia, not the Czech Republic.

Then there are the ridiculous guns like my AMT Automag III in .30 Carbine and my brushed chrome Desert Eagle in .50 AE. And barely a pistol is my Gwinn Bushmaster Arm Pistol.

I have multiples of Glocks and Ruger MKII's. I guess my favorite MKII would be the one I got for graduation in 1988. It's a stainless bull barrel model.

I have a small collection of Chinese pistols, a Tokarev T-54 in 7.62x25, a Type 59 Makarov in 9x18 and a Norinco 1911A1. They're all fun to shoot and make occasional trips to the range.

A couple of years ago I wanted a cowboy gun and ended up buying a couple of Uberti Taylors. I really enjoy reloading and shooting the big .45 Colt cartridge.

I've got a pair of Ruger GP-100 .357 revolvers, a four and a six inch stainless. The four inch gun has been to the FBI Firearm Instructor course three times with three different people. It performed flawlessly each time. The six inch gun will print palm size groups at 50 yards.

I probably have a couple dozen other handguns not worth mentioning. One of my least favorite pistols is my HK VP70. It's accurate enough but the trigger pull is horrendous. And I've challenged people to rapid fire it and by about ten of the eighteen rounds they want to give up.

I have some really low end guns that are nostalgic to me for one reason or another. Those would include a H&R 733 in .32 S&W Long and a FIE Titan .25 Auto. My favorite Saturday Night Special is a mint condition Clerke 1st revolver in .22 caliber. Because it's so cheaply made I only fire it with the Colibri no gunpowder ammo, but I still shoot it. Then there's a really rusty RG 23 .22 that still works.

I'm just not able to say that I have a single favorite. I enjoy all of them.

Like MPFiveO, I have a similar collection. To pick a "favorite" out of all of them, I would have to know the reason for the choice.
Is it "if you could only pick one in a survival situation", or is it my favorite for concealed carry, or nostalgia or just for personal reasons.
And while my choice for a "grab one handgun and run for your life" would be my bone stock Glock 19, my favorite for concealed carry would be my smith 342.
But my favorite for "other reasons", and not in the most practical way, would be my Yugo M57.

My favorite to wear is a 2nd gen Colt SAA in 45 Colt.   Every once in awhile I'll wear it for a 'dress up' event - suit & tie type things.  For some odd reason, every LEO that I run into while wearing it wants to see it  :-)

My favorite to shoot is my sig P227.  Comfortable, ergonomic, accurate.  What else could one ask from a handgun?
