Derrick
I live in WA state and will be driving down to the SAR show in December. Prefer the longer but safer route down I-5 (avoiding snow/mountains). However, I'm pretty sure CA law prohibits the transit of "assault weapons" through the state, even for an FFL/SOT. It doesn't appear CA recognizes any safe harbor protections for firearms in "transit" (Federal FOPA). Anyone know better? I was planning on driving straight through CA, only stopping for gas. Thanks! JeffM
Take I5 to Portland Then I84 to salt lake city,' I10 to Las Vegas, I11 to Phoenix. Avoid California at all cost. The roads should not be to bad.

Christof Stehpinkler
Federal law is clear, you are allowed to do this and you will eventually win, but any pissy gun-hating jurisdiction along the way can make your life miserable for six months or a year if they want to. I'd stay strictly out of California. I hope we see some conspiracy against civil rights charges from Trump's DOJ, and some smug state and local politicians marched off to prison.
