johnny
hello is it true ? The only difference between these two barrels are the bushings added later ?
johnny
Can’t you just cut them off the bushings from the MG 1561 barrel
donwest
The ST61 barrels started as A/C barrels. The bushings added front and rear and the front one is threaded on then peened in place. The muzzle of the A/C barrel was machined back and threaded which you will see if you remove the bushing. The original A/C barrel has gas check grooves near the muzzle and is machined to fit snug in the bearing surface of the shroud. The muzzle of the ST barrel might not fit correctly in this bearing afetr removing the bushing
