duza9999
Good morning, it’s 4:54 am here and for the last $&*%#!@ two and a half hours I’ve been attempting to get this stupid mg34 recuperator retention pin out, so I can change the recuperator spring on this (new to me) mg34. I did it once before 7-8 months ago on different premay 34 (I was walked through it by TNW, (though to be clear both in question are premay samples). But for the life of me I can not get this one out, I’ve tried gentle, I’ve bashed it with a hammer, attempting everything I can think of with a flip up hex key set. Does anybody have any recommendations? Am I just doing it wrong? (I’ve tried both just straight down and on the tapered pin’s rim). https://www.brpguns.com/copy-of-mg34-recuperator-assembly-with-pin/ (An identical reproduction of the pin in question). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!-Mat
dogman5
I've never had to change one but are you pushing the recouperator in while you try and punch it out? I'm sure having the spring force on the pin isn't helping. Have you tried from both sides? There is an opening on both sides and maybe one side is peened in more than the other.
