S&W76 Bolts

I don't know if it's really an issue, but if you do decide to make them would you consider looking at the extractor position and design to see if it can be improved?

I've looked at a lot of guns over the years and right now I can't recall anything else that positions the extractor perpendicular to the ejector. I understand that it was probably easier to make it that way, but it sure does seem like it would put more stress on it. Not to mention that it's basically stamped out of sheet metal. A thicker machined version would have been far superior. If I remember correctly one of the other two M76 guys tried a different position on their bolt. I can't remember if it was SA Machine or BRP.

I don't think the extractor can be  repositioned as it has to align with the notch in the trunion. But I second the idea that maybe it can be improved by making it more robust?

Initial estimates are $1,200 each but that could go up or down. The biggest factor as of today is the production quantity. If there’s a lot of participation then the price lower however, if I only make a dozen units then the price would of course be higher.

I’ve sold over 100 FNC bolts but I don’t expect near that same response to these which is crazy to me because there’s a lot more S&W76 / MK760 SMGs out there and the S&W76 / MK760 failure rate is higher. Despite folklore, the FNC bolt is robust as long as shooters use factory loads.
