HK MP5-N broken plastic part question.

I was disassembling my MP5-N and after removing the stock assembly, several broken pieces of amber colored plastic fell out.  I am having trouble figuring out what that part is and how to replace.  Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Probably the buffer in the stock. 
check HKParts for a MP5 A3 buffer. 
 

Then do a Google search for installation. 
 

Don’t shoot it until you replace the buffer

Yep the buffer on the stock disintegrated with age. I’ve got OEM replacements and replace them often.

It's pretty easy to install. Getting the old one extracted can be a bit frustrating. Because it's starting to crumble it won't just pop out. You're going to have to employ needle nose pliers and forceps to get all the little chunks out of the inside of the stock. Installation is much easier. Just put a dab of your preferred lube on the pointy end of the buffer and press it into the hole in the stock.

Ditto that, when they turn orange-brown and get hard...time to replace!  I buffer everything I can, and keep an eye on them including my AKM, Krink, (with the spring mounted buffer), 1911, HK's, Tommy's. They put the buffers there for a reason. Buffers will save you lots of money in the long run, especially on your high-volume shooters. FWIW, Ted
