flgunguy
I'm having an issue where my perfectly functioning Aug does not want to reassemble. The bolt carrier meets resistance when trying to fully seat, so I can't fit the receiver all the way in. It's like half an inch sticking out. Anyone have experience with this situation? It's never happened before and all I did was disassemble to look at my sear pack.
clc3251
Registered sear? Take the pack out. Assemble the gun and lock the bolt to the rear. Put your pack in at an angle under the bolt carrier. That's how I have to assemble mine. If you don't, the sear hits the trip and won't let you assemble. Registered sears must be bigger than factory sears and won't ride under the trip when you assemble.
flgunguy
That sounds like exactly what I should have done, I will try this.
flgunguy
So to anyone who has the same issue as me, the previous poster is correct you have to put the receiver in first. But when putting the sear pack back, there isn't much room for an angle. What you have to do is click the sear back so the hammer let's go (not releases but just let's the sear click forward) and that'll give the clearance needed. johnsonlmg41
Out of spec registered sear. Very common problem with most of them that have not been modified. As long as the hammer is cocked back you should be able to assemble it any which way, if not you have that issue as well as other performance problems. clc3251
So what are the modifications that you speak of? Mine does this and runs perfect.
