JCB Drop in Auto Sear-SPF

Recommended Posts

JCB Drop-in Auto Sear, used but good condition. This sear is all steel, no aluminum!  These rarely come up for sale, one of the hardest NFA pieces to get.  Manufactured by John Benjamin out of Portland Oregon.   You can legally put this in to nearly any AR 15 style firearm and shoot full Auto.  Was part of my deceased brothers collection, who was an FFL here in Oregon!  Buyer pays any state tax wherever I ship to.   I'll pay the shipping to the FFL of your choice.  Do not miss out on this deal.  It is registered with the NFA on a Form 5.  $40,000

Don’t get too excited. The seller joined the forum 7 hours before this amazingly cheap listing.

Not saying he ain’t legit.  But drive carefully.

I agree with HHollow, Do your due homework before sending funds. NFA sales.com  also always has a red cloth background. NFA sales are legit but make sure pics were not copied from their website from a previous sale. If its Legit, you are getting a deal. My friend gave $44,000 around 6 months ago for a DIAS. Good luck and i hope everything is legit.

Seller miraculously took a phone call and completed a sale to an “ffl” within the 15 seconds it took me to type out “I’ll take it” after I saw it appear on sturm. Told me to kick rocks. Wild times we are in. Guy is either a fake or no one honors “I’ll take it” anymore. 3rd time that’s happened to me in the past 90 days on this forum.

I'll take it. PM sent.

Hi is this Tom, the deal with the FFL in Florida fell thru, because he didn't want to follow the law and pay the sales tax on my item for the state in which he lives, he also wanted the serial number before we completed the needed form!  So, if you're still interested in the auto sear it's still for sale.

Sincerely,

Mark

Dear sir, regardless of what you said about me on the website, I've never sold on it before, I am a novice at this process and I inherited this from my deceased brother who was an FFL here in Oregon!  But, I have no ill will towards you for what you've said about me!  I ended up not selling the auto sear to the FFL in Florida because he wanted to skirt the law of paying the sales tax that is required even if you purchase something online!  So, you see, I'm a law abiding citizen!  If you're still interested in the auto sear, you can message me on the website!  If you feel I've offended you, I'm truly sorry!

Sincerely,

Mark

An FFL is a business, should be tax exempt, and not required to pay sales tax. Also if two parties are interstate, afaik there is no requirement for a seller to collect sales tax for the recipient state. How would you even pay it on his behalf?

Oregon has no sales tax at all, one of just a handful of states that do not. Even if they did, it would not matter, because tax would be due in state of delivery (Florida), however a private seller or small business would not have to collect and remit sales tax unless they have economic nexus (defined by 200 sales or $100,000 in total sales in the last year to that state) and already registered for a sales tax permit in that state...I don't chime in on stuff like this very often but it sounds very very fishy. 40K for a steel RDAIS is a very good deal these days, not outside of the realistic range, but at the bottom so a very good deal. That said, a bumpy transaction might be ahead for someone on this even if it is legit because the seller does not seem to know what they are doing. IMO a bumpy/risky transactions isn't worth saving 10%, but that is just my opinion. Also "NFA on a Form 5" ??? That does not sound right either.

Form 5 makes sense, as it transferred from his deceased brother tax free to him, via the Form 5.

Then the buyer would have to get the seller to submit a Form 4 with $200 tax. I agree though, at 10% under current market value, this is a very very bumpy road. May not be worth it. Not sure the age of the seller, but if a death occurs during transfer you might as well kiss your $40k goodbye.

Be very very careful….. OP’s replies are eerily similar to any halfway decent scammer I have ran across. They are just close enough to how someone would actually speak that it can be easily glanced over. Go back and read his replies and tell me who you know that talks like that?

So the form 5 part makes sense - in the short time that I've been an SOT, I've handled several form 5 estate transfers in my law practice for clients.

But - I've been an Ebay seller for many years on high value stuff (rare coins, gold, silver, etc) and I agree completely with Nicholasd853's assessment.   The syntax, grammar, and sentence structure all scream 'scammer' to me.

Now that you mention it, I totally agree with you. Very very fishy. This guy reeks of a scammer.

I have seen scammers on this website use real people’s names, contacts, etc. It is possible that the real Mark has no idea this is happening. In either case my condolences to the family of the deceased.

Any FFL is going to want the serial number of an NFA firearm being purchased - if I'm buying from someone who owns a gun on a form 4 or form 5, you better believe that I want to see a copy of the form showing that the serial number, owner name, etc all match up.

They very frequently use other people’s identities, complete with photo of a driver’s license.

I agree. I have an FFL but not an SOT3. Why all of my machineguns are on a form4. Thank you to everyone who has posted on this so far, for the intel and what to keep an eye out for.

I have found that saying that I have a friend,cousin,acquanitance,etc/ very near to sellers location and who can inspect items, usually scares away scammers.

The ones that say they do not feel safe meeting someone unknown to show the item,REALLY fly away when the suggestion is made to meet at, say, the police station.

Just my 2 cents.

About 2 years ago someone hacked my Sturm account and was selling multiple NFA items using my name for several hours before it was caught -- it does happen!
