Tim Bogle
The magazine on the left in both pictures is the one I'm trying to ID. The one on the right is a Madsen M50. They are both the same length.
tommyboy
If it’s for a .45 ACP cartridge, it might be for the Brazilian INA 953 which was a .45 ACP version of the Madsen M50.
Tim Bogle
It is a 9mm magazine.
StrangeRanger
The inward facing vertical ribs near the front of the mag may have been used to locate the shoulder of 7.65 Luger or possibly 7.63 Mauser or 7.62 Tokarev cartridges (if the mag is long enough to accommodate their greater length). However I don't know if the Madsen was offered in any of those calibers.
Tim Bogle
The Tok round is way too long. A 9mm fits nicely.
c_monster
Its a Madsen Mag
StrangeRanger
Just curious, do those vertical ribs push the cartridges together enough to reduce magazine capacity? Or can you get a full 30(?) in it? If they reduce capacity could it be specifically for the 7.65 Luger which is roughly the same length as the 9?
Tim Bogle
It's a struggle to get eight rounds of 9mm into them. I tried two different mags.
StrangeRanger
Here's a drawing of the 7.65 Luger cartridge. https://bobp.cip-bobp.org/uploads/tdcc/tab-iv/tabivcal-en-page14.pdf See if the magazine ribs match the case shoulder. There aren't a lot of other cases with the same body diameter as the 9 Luger
Don.
As stated previously, it’s a Madsen mag. I have several adapted for an M11.
