Frank I
Has anyone received their SOT renewal form? Last year it came early, around April. I haven't received mine yet.
United Surplus Arms
did you renew online? I don't think they send renewal forms out any more. If you renew online (pay.gov) it takes about 2-3 weeks to get the new SOT by mail (I received an email reminder from the ATF in early April, I renewed (online) on April 24, and received the paper SOT by mail about 2 weeks later.) RCM Limited
Frank, I was under the impression they won't send renewals anymore. I just printed a renewal form off on line and submitted it snail mail. Roger
SGT Fish
Easiest to just renew online. It's almost as easy as making this post and you don't have to worry about the post office losing it
Frank I
I have always renewed online, but they used to send out a reminder in April. I didn't get a notice this year. Fortunately, I remembered and painlessly paid on gov.com Edited June 6 by Frank I
Uncle Zeek
13 minutes ago, Frank I said: I have always renewed online, but they used to send out a reminder in April. I didn't get a notice this year. When I got my FFL last year and the IOI was here interviewing me, this subject came up. He said that I would only get an email reminder to renew my SOT, not a mailed one. Take that for whatever its worth (my experiences and $5 will get you a cup of coffee, right? :-) )

Bill in Bama
I got an email reminder in late April I think. I waited until two weeks ago to renew online but have yet to see my SOT in the mail.

Bill in Bama
My paper form arrived yesterday. WRONG! I just glanced at it and laid it on my desk. Went to copy it to send to vendors and noticed it is my FFL renewal instead. Doh! So I still don't have my new SOT like I thought. I'm getting too old for this.... Saab95v6
I receive a email notice in April , I renewed the very next minute online and received my 2026 SOT , (5630.6A) on April 25th . It's not that hard the process is very easy . Lot of dealers don't even know about this , It's kind of hard to make some understand !!!! https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/may-firearms-be-shipped-licensee-address-different-business-premises-address-identified May firearms be shipped to a licensee at an address different from the business premises address identified on the license? Yes. Neither the GCA nor its implementing regulations require firearms be shipped only to the licensed business premises. Therefore, a licensee may lawfully receive firearms at the licensee’s mailing address, storage location, or other address where the licensee intends to ensure safe and secure receipt of the firearms. Got Uzi
ATF got back to me. My computer autofilled the wrong address on my sole prop application and now it’s fixed so I get to enjoy the “hurry up and wait” again.

davester
Am I correct to assume that if you have proof of payment via online and are still waiting for printed license to arrive you are legally safe? Submitted mine 30 days before expired and still waiting..
Got Uzi
Proof of payment typically means you are good, but distributors won’t accept that if you are trying to order inventory.
Rick Lee
I got my 07 FFL on May 22, applied for SOT on May 23, they charged my Amex immediately. I have heard nothing since then. Is this an automatic approval or is there another intake interview for a first timer?
Firelizzard
You are not applying for approval for an SOT, you are just paying the tax. Yes, once you can show the tax was payed you are good to go, but like GotUzi said your distributors will want a hard copy emailed before they will send you products.
