Post #1, paragraph #2 of this thread explains the rare "SS" marked M11a1 guns - SWD “transitional” M11A1? Apparently these "SS" marked frames were originally earmarked to be "open-bolt single shots" to circumvent the open-bolt ban in the early 80's.
