Chef
There's really no market for new made commercial parts. With the prices of 7.62 ammo and a transferable M60, not many people are shooting them and the ones who are, have enough coin to afford original replacement parts if they need them. har1690
While I agree with what the posters are saying, I have been talking with US ORD and they adamantly stated they are NO longer selling any parts or kits to the civilian market. I bought my M60 a couple of years ago and bothered the heck out of Aaron buying all parts I could. Now that I have 10 complete bolts, 10 op rods, etc. and of course some 25k of beautiful .308, I'll never have to spend another $0.01. Life is good. It does seem like the market is soft currently, but we all know how that changes...
SGT Fish
Aaron has been making or commissioning new parts here and there. He had new bolts available last year as well as new and rebuild grip assemblies.
Aaron in Mohnton Pa
@har1690 I appreciate you sir. Thank you for your business over the years. It has truly helped my business.... @johnsonlmg41 hit it... There just isn't an abundance of surplus M60 parts anymore (at least the critical wear components). New M60 parts that do find their way to the market are "government pricing" items. Meaning there are extremely expensive. I believe Rob when he says USO told him they wont sell to the civilian market. They don't need to. There have massive massive government contracts to focus on...... The M60 is one of those over engineered guns made in the 50's which make it hard to reproduce the parts. I think an M60 barrel consists of like 15 different pieces that have to be made (that is if you count the bipod as one part). For somebody to tool up and make M60 barrels would be an astronomical eye popping cost. I have an original .Gov purchase order copy for M60 barrels from the 1990s. The cost per barrel was like 2,500 per unit... Look at the old original M60 handguards and buttstocks. They consist of so many different parts and pieces that are riveted together and rubber coated... Where do you even start with that? So much specialty stamping work... I do have some parts made. Right now we are running standard charging handles.... But there is always so much money involved with making things from scratch and doing them RIGHT (heat treat, proper spec, proper material used etc).
