MP5
Are these “universal”? One size/type fits all? Who makes the “best” ones? Does the particular material they are made of make any difference? Any recommendations for a parts dealer or manufacturer to get them from? Tips on installation, or maybe a link to a “how to” video on installation? (I’m going to need a couple soon.) Any relevant info would be greatly appreciated.
MPFiveO
The last ones I bought were from Tactical Innovations. It's a really good idea to have spares. They are not fully interchangeable to the best of my knowledge, you'd want one specific to your model. There would be one specific to the .380 and to the M11/9. The MAC 10 would use the same buffer for 9mm or .45 ACP. The biggest reason they are different is the size of the bolt and the location of the ejector rod in relation to the recoil spring. I prefer the newer drop in style compared to the original which required disassembly of the recoil spring assembly. Not worth the effort when the ejector rod holds it in place just fine. An original buffer can be trimmed to clear the recoil spring as well.
