Recommended Posts

ATTENTION: Communication Alpha One Message:

- I am currently working on a project of M1919A6 low weight and mass  project

- I have considered an ANM2, M40, lighter variants.

Stated Purpose:  I wish to add the capability of a quicker change barrel. I have considered work with the barrel extension section. This is for a custom non commercial production purpose.

Any input from manufactures / machinists / or RKI Individuals appreciated.

Just a FYI: I am 6’3” 220 lbs with lumberjack oversize wide hands. I do not have toothpick fingers, and I will utilize a tablet or laptop in the future. It is near impossible to type on a virtual keyboard for me even with an IPHONE 16.
I love in the real world. I do allot of shooting and use my guns. I do not sit online all day. It would be nice to be able to have a barrel change feature to do so.
I came here as an area that allot of RKIs and experts do frequent. There is no need for hostility or criticism. I am not nor do I go to Reddit or other dish platforms. I actually wish to find real answers and deal in reality.
Thanks you for the professional and civil messages I have received.

Just a friendly FYI: You would be more likely to get more quality replies and assistance if you proofread and corrected your typos.
Your posts looks like something written by a "Nigerian Prince" looking for someone to help them cash a check.

It scares people off.

I am working on a project of lightening a M1919A6 machine gun. I know there is fluting that can be done to the side plates and barrel, an M320 type vertical grip, and a rail nod to eliminate  the heavier sights, and a synthetic butter cor example.
I know the military at one point way back in the past had some prototypes, and they never really went into production. It is possible to to do. Are there any SOT machinists that are on this board that would be willing to make and barrel Astor for me?

I wane to pursue Thai project or possible. I realize it will take some permanent modification to original parts that I am not concerned about. I would like to discuss the project with someone if possible.
Please feel free to message me, and I will be glad for any input or contacts to machinists for such work. I hanks for looking at my post….

ANM2   MG40 and a few others.  Buy some books on the subject such as Dolf's Browning machine gun series.   Synthetic butter....are you referring to margarine?  You might want to invest in a computer with a keyboard or lose some weight on the fat keyboard commando fingers?   Your questions and spelling might go over better on reddit?  Which probably started as read it, until someone with a phone any your typing skills got a hold of it?

I appreciate the advice on the books and literature you recommend. I will review it.

Oh excuse me. You were not aware of synthetic butter?? The new memory metal that will mould and reforms itself??  Just kidding!! Hey it’s all in good fun…. Thanks again everyone….

QCB for the 1919 or ANM2 is an interesting endeavor. The Browning guns have some unique characteristics comparatively speaking: closed bolt, no QCB, cartridge extraction from belt instead of push thru link type. All together these are not conducive to a quick change barrel modification. Someone up above related to the QCB on the 50 cal Browning, but you have to realize the 50 has no barrel shroud/booster and allows for barrel removal going forward. Cannot do this with the other Brownings due to the shroud and booster.

Good luck with this project. Let us know if you make headway on it.
