thatoneguy82
I just got an M1A1 lower from Apex and while it is "S" marked and has FULL stamped over AUTO, it also has a milled stock boss instead of a pressed and pinned one. Per the 3rd edition of "American Thunder", Savage installed the stock boss by pressing it in and pinning it. It's in the 575xxx serial range, does anyone know if Savage changed their method of manufacture later in production or have a similar lower frame by Savge? Frank I
Early Savage M1-M1A1 stock bosses were milled, later pressed and pinned to expedite production. 575XXX is probably just past midrange for an M1A1 Thompson lowest observed was around 300k highest 800+k After 80+ years it is hard to speculate exactly what occurred and when.
