Bill in Bama
I'm trying to complete a Form 4 for a customer who purchased a suppressor from one of the online sales companies, I'm the NFA dealer in his state. He paid the seller the $200 tax stamp so I cannot complete the e-form since there's no provision for bypassing the Pay train stop. What to do? I have an inquiry in to the selling company, but this is frustrating since everything else ready to go.
Maddog7580
BinB, I had that issue with a suppressor transfer, the customer bought 4 suppressors from an FFL who went out of business. It was originally a Silencer Shop purchase. The out of business FFL was a Silencer Shop dealer and had collected the profit. I completed the transfer for the customer after the defaulting FFL form 3'd the suppressors to me. The customer had to switch dealers (to me) within Silencer Shop, which cost him extra money to transfer the transaction/transfer to me. Bill in Bama
SS just told me I have to complete a"assighment order" to process this, not sure what that is, but I'm on hold for someone to sort this out.
Don.
He or you will have to pay it to proceed. It’s probably more up to him to get the refund from the first seller. If you want to help with that, that’s up to you.

I naturally want to help him, he's a regular customer. He bought this from SS because they give him a generous LEO discount, which I understand. Whatever you think will work to get him to deal with you directly in the future instead of Super Suck. It would be nice to have the same margins to offer the discounts, but it won’t happen. Bill in Bama
I got it fixed. SS is refunding him his stamp money(they charged him $205) and I've paid it and efiled the application, got confirmation so all is good now. He had bought a can last year through SS using their one shot trust form, so he thought it would be best to pay them again. He now knows to come to me for quicker service and less hassle. And I learned a bit more about how SS works. He actually bought the can from the manufacturer to ge t their LEO discount (paid less than I could buy it for), but then he paid SS the stamp fee and got them involved. Won't happen again.
