thatoneguy82
Has anyone got any personal experience with thommygunparts.com? It looks a little too good to be true... Or an old holdover from way back. Thanks KH
StrangeRanger
Don't know them but the use of English language on the site is very stilted and seems a bit off - as do the prices. Also note the positioning of the dollar signs, not conventional to say the least. No physical address or phone number. Copyright date is 2024 so they've not been up and running for very long. Everything tells me to avoid, proceed at your own risk.
thatoneguy82
Thanks, I arrived at the same conclusion, tried the site in the Internet Way Back and couldn't find anything more on them. Guess I'll need to go elsewhere to scratch my thompson itch...
Pyrocoyote
What Thompson itch are you trying to scratch ? May be able to help
chappy
I contacted the site. He says he is in Europe. You could always test the water with a small order. I did this with Thompson parts from Greece and it worked out perfectly. But I was also ready to lose it all. Buyer beware. Chappy
Mark2
Don’t bother, It is illegal to import Thompson parts into the U.S. without an approved Form 6 anyway.
mbc230
I have spoken to this guy too. I am very nervous, and it does sound too good to be true. It sounds like I am NOT the only one who has big reservations. What is the actual law of importing just gun parts and NOT actual firearms. I thought if the declared value was under $100 dollars than a Form 6 does not matter and you are good to go. This is where everything I have read is all over the place and NOT 100% sure of what the actual laws are. Anyone can shed some light on this subject or a specific thread as I have searched everywhere next to NOT calling the ATF yet. Thank you. United Surplus Arms
Fairly certain you are correct that a Form 6 is not required if the items: 1. are NOT for resale (and) 2. Value does not Exceed $100 (and) 3. not a barrel, frame, cylinder, complete breech mechanism (and) 4. not a military surplus item I would call the ATF Import branch (304-616-4550) for any questions/clarification. You can remain anonymous. They have been very helpful in my experiences. Personally, I would not risk doing this unless you do it the 'right' way.
