AM180 help

A buddy of mine has one. Just going from memory. Keep it clean. They like to fire out of battery when they get dirty. E&L is the go to source for parts. Buy extra winders. Someone came up with a loading tool that made the chore easier. They suppress well, just make sure it's a user serviceable can otherwise it will quickly become a lead brick. Other than that, they're a blast to shoot. Write your name in cursive with it.

I got one a couple years ago and first time out the selector pin broke, post research I learned firing bursts puts stress on the pin. The original sear set screw was flat head and never coming out, so I ordered a complete sear assembly for $65 from Val at E&L Manf., great guy, incredibly knowledgeable, and happy to help.

Runs great until dirty. Recommend running a wire brush down the barrel between mags. It took me hour + and a bent cleaning rod to get all the lead out after waiting a day to clean.

Mine works with well with any high velocity ammo except Agulia it's got some weird or excessive wax that gums up after one magazine.

I assume it’s easier to push out the lead fouling while it’s still hot?

Yes.

It's a lot of fun to shoot, especially for kids or gun shy adults. I got a couple 275 Lexan drums because size matters, but one keeps popping off and quickly distributes bullets on the ground and the other jams between layers (after watching KickStands' youtube video that could be me not starting the load properly) the metal drums I got with it run fine.

Also post research- Install winder on loaded drum give it 2 1/2 turns and then addition one full turn per layer of ammo,

I had the same problem.  I had a 275 round Lexan drum take off like a flying saucer.  It hit the road hard in mid flight.  To it's credit , it did not break.  I learned to make sure it is latched in secure.
