The Marine Raiders (Carlson’s Raiders) carried the 55 caliber Boys AT rifle in the South Pacific in World War II, using it effectively in their attack on the Japanese garrison at Makin Island. Fidel Castro even utilized a Boys AT rifle in his unsuccessful 1953 attack on the Moncada Barracks in Cuba, which resulted in Fidel spending two years in prison.
