Shot at Knob Creek for 10+ years and miss it.

My boys are 18 & 20 and would love to share the best parts of the C3 world with them.

Besides Big Sandy....are there other shoots anyone would recommend.

Thanks

Scott

Hernando Sportsman's Club does one twice a year. Might have to check it out this year. My buddy and I made it onto the line during the very last KCR night shoot. So glad that we were able to put rounds downrange on that epic event.  We've been looking for other shoots to attend that aren't too far from sweet home Alabama. Hernando might fit the bill.

OFASTS outside of Tulsa OK....3rd weekend in June and another weekend in Sept.

100 line spots, plenty of shooters. Not so great for buying/shopping mg stuff though. It's no KC pole barn- but I think they are trying to develop it.

It's a shooters shoot. Lots of rental mg outfits although I'm generally too busy blasting to rent.

Mostly a belt fed shoot ...several hundred yards, big range , cars and junk.

Sat day and night shoot, Sun day only.

Most shooters stay at one of the nearby Indian casinos.

I've had standing line spots there for a bit under a decade. Good times.

Feel free to drop by my crew, say hello, and blast a bit if you like.  Look for the XrayGuns sign.

What about the Alabamer shoot? I haven't heard anything about it in a while. It was fairly close, they usually had something posted over on subguns.com until it shut down. There are some great youtube videos on it, iraqvetran8888 and many others filmed the shoots. People came from all over the country. A guy from Virginia brought his transferable Oerlikon and destroyed a car with it. There were miniguns, assorted cannons, grenade launchers etc, etc, sometimes you just had to stop and watch a rare item fire off. I passed thru the area recently and made it a point to drive by the range to see if I saw any signs. I saw trucks hauling gravel out (expanding the range maybe).

I wish I had good news for you but we haven't done an Ala-Bam-Er shoot in at least a dozen years. One of the guys in our group bought the property and everything was great until the feds made an explosives violation case on him. It was dropped after they pulled his Type 10 license and he'd sold everything to pay his lawyers. He left the country a short time later and the property was sold to a new owner. The new owner had no interest in running it as a range. I've looked for a long time for a suitable place to get our group back together but have come up empty. It was definitely fun while it lasted.

Eddie doesn't shoot much these days, he's content to piddle with his exotic cars and motorcycles. I still shoot regularly with a small group of friends, but our range is not a place we can shoot cars and appliances or 25 pound Tannerite charges. I'll bring the M2 out once or twice a year on Veterans Day or Memorial Day. Most of the time it's just a few Subguns or automatic rifles. I miss all the guys that brought all the truly exotic stuff to our shoots. The 20mm was definitely unforgettable as was James DeGroat's M134 Minigun. I really miss destroying cars with my M2 .50 BMG. Good times and great memories.

Does the upcoming Hernando Sportsman's Club shoot have a lot of belt feds available to try/rent?

All the years I’ve gone there I’ve never seen any rentals? A ton of guys being there own smgs to a shoot and have fun. Even a mini gun comes out. There are a lot of belt feds there. Will they let people shoot them? I’m sure if you ask and pay for the ammo? Imho. YMMV

Here’s what Hernando sportsman’s club (FL) Sub Gun match looked like (3/30/25). I’m not sure if you have any interest in matches but they plan on hosting more. Also, Port Malabar (FL) has sub-gun matches too.

Like previously mentioned above HSC, host 2 machine gun shoots a year (shoot at cars, fire extinguishers and all kinds of stuff).
