firearm
Very early serial numbered Colt Thompson, #129. Transferable and in my inventory. Will tax exempt transfer on an E-form to your dealer. Weapon SN#129 was shipped to Logan Hardware & Supply Company, Logan, West Virginia in April of 1921. Subsequently forwarded to Main Island Creek Coal Company, Omar, West Virginia, to the attention of Will Gore, along with Thompson Sub-Machine Guns #91, #1914, #2167, and #2313. Will Gore functioned as a deputy sheriff under Sheriff Don Chafin (circa 1921 / 1924) of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia. All of the weapons were believed to have been involved in the violent “Battle of Blair Mountain” mining wars, August 25th to September 2nd of 1921. The battle was between 10,000 armed coal miners and 3,000 members of the “Logan County Defenders”, a contingent of local law enforcement, state militia, Baldwin-Felts Detective Agency, and independent strike breakers. Approximately 135 people were killed during this historical conflict. This 3 digit Thompson is in excellent condition and correct, except for the butt stock assembly which is early US Military issue. Barrel is original and has the original “wedding ring” band. It still retains a good percentage of the original bluing, with some wear on the high points and a few small splotches on the finish on the side of the receiver as shown in the jpegs. A FOIA Request would probably turn up some interesting history on this weapon. Of interesting note, is that SN#91 just sold with buyer's premium at auction for $84,000. this weapon is much nicer in condition, no premium except shipping. Weapon is in my inventory on E-Forms. Price is $65,000. Email or call. maxfaxdude
At the risk of sounding like a Nick Tilotta advertisement, I can say that Nick is a standup guy. I bought an MG-13 with rare double S drum from him several years ago and the gun came delivered as advertised. Nick was a pleasure to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again!
