FFI
Picked up a 240 today and went to test fire a short belt and noticed that the belt links fail to eject after just a couple rounds. The front end of the link catches on the link guide and gets caught up there jamming the gun. I made sure I seated the rounds appropriately in the links, tried a few different ammo options and it happens with all the factory ammo I have here. We have a 1919a4 and RPD so have experience with beltfeds and figuring out what they like and don’t like is always Interesting. I noticed In the feed tray there is a bit of a gap between the tip of the bullet and the front of the tray. On the 1919, we solved the feeding issue by shimming the cartridge guide as it was designed for 762x51 not 308. As this 240 is modern I assumed modern factory 308 would be fine. Think we need to shim this feed tray like we did on the 1919 to push the rounds all the way back in the tray? Other ideas on how to solve this?
