MEW
I have a UPS account and have sold ammo for years when I have a surplus of a brand or caliber. Long story short is I packed up a box 28lbs.and printed the label only to arrive at the local Hub and it was CLOSED PERMANENTLY. No memo to account holders, no prior notice from UPS, just a sign on the door!!! I was able to flag a driver who said as far as his supervisors are saying they are systematically closing Hubs to walk ins to ship or pick up packages. While I cannot attest to the accuracy of this it appears it may be true. Luckily I stopped at my local UPS store who accepted it only because it was properly boxed, labeled and had the triangle stickers on it. So the days of shipping ammo as a private seller may be over. And if you have any customer service needs it's all online, which means there is none. Just a friendly heads up, YMMV by location.
glassmountains
Looks like your local UPS Store will be the place to go. I'm surprised that the UPS Store accepted ammo. The ones around here say they have been told not to accept any ORM-D packages. MEW
Wow, would have been nice to let customers know. I was stoked as I knew the story about the stores but it must have been the way I told the guy that I needed help with a shipping issue and UPS sent me there. He said since I had my own label and markings boxed already he would hold it for pickup. It got picked up around 1700 so at least he threw me a bone on it. I won't be shipping anymore at this point. United Surplus Arms
get a pirateship account (free) and you can schedule a pickup of ammo from your UPS driver for about $4 or so. The UPS stores are not supposed to take hazmat (including ammo) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not try to get around this by not labeling it properly as ammo must go by ground Edited December 31, 2024 by United Surplus Arms
