RCM Limited
Is there any after market mags for an MP-40 that you think is worth purchasing or should I just stay with factory mags? If so, would you please identify them? Thanks for any advise.
3rdmardiv
No, stay with the originals, they are well worth the extra cost. They will function better and gain in value.

3rdmardiv
Tommyboy is right. Original, WW2 mags in good condition will work better and appreciate in value.
Chef
If you can afford an MP40, you can afford to pony up for original mags
donwest
Vigneron mags will work. These are post war knock offs made as a copy to fit the Belgian SMG
1gewehr
Vigneron mags are good quality, but need to have little bit shaved from the front and sides to fit properly. Not much, just a fine touch with a belt sander will do it.
tommyboy
The Sola Super was a machine gun that was built in the 50’s in Luxembourg and was designed to use MP40 mags. They also produced their own mags that look very similar to Vigneron mags but have no markings and require no modification for use in the MP40. They’re not easy to find these days, but are commonly mistaken for Vigneron mags and often offered for sale as such. Below are side by side comparisons of the Sola and MP40 mags. They work great but the only downside is that you can’t use an original MP40 loading tool because the mag lacks the notch on the back the loading tool clips into. Sola mag is on the left. WillBR
I've tried the DK mags and they have to be forced into my mag well and are a pain to remove.
